"I'm so glad we're finally doing this" Marcus presses his forehead to mine as he gazes into my eyes.

"I got to admit, I was quite shocked when you asked me to move in with you, but now being here with you and seeing how happy this is making you, I know I've made the right choice"

"Damn straight you did!" Marcus pulls his face away but instead lifts me in the air, twirling me around. "I still don't understand how someone as perfect as you could love someone like me... it boggles my mind."

I frown.

"Marcus, neither of us are perfect. But we sure are great together, to be quite honest, I often wonder why you never gave up on me." This time, Marcus frowns.

"You-" I cut him off before he can interrupt my flow.

"I mean, you could basically have any girl you want, Niomi was like a super model and think of all you're girl viewers, I'm sure the majority of them are better than me, but yet, you still chose to stick by me and never give up even when I was being difficult, why?"

Marcus brings his fingers to his chin as he thinks.

"Because I love you Iris, I couldn't even picture myself with someone else. You say you're not perfect, but you're honestly perfect to me."

"That sounds like a line straight out of some cheesy love song."

"I know I sound like a bloody idiot, but you do that to me" I look at him in admiration, "I've never felt this way about anyone else, not Niomi, no one."

I feel tears of joy fill my eyes as I jump into his arms, wrapping my arms around his neck.

He grabs my face tenderly and kisses me with such passion I feel like my heads going to explode.

"I love you so much Marcus"

"And I love you just as much"

Me and Marcus have been living together for a just under a year now and have been together for just over a year, we're still crazy in love.

"Can you come here please love?" I hear Marcus call from our room upstairs.

I turn close my laptop and start making my way upstairs whilst adjusting my oversized knitted jumper.

I slowly open the door and stick my head inside, a wave of heat hits me and I can already feel a sweat coming on.

My thoughts are interrupted when I notice what’s happening.

Marcus is sitting on our bed wearing a suit playing with his fingers (something I discovered he does when he's nervous), there's soft music playing in the background and the whole room is covered in candles.

"Wha-at's going on?"

Marcus' head snaps up to look at me and he noticeably calms down.

"Do you like it?" he asks hopefully.

"I love it! But I'm confused... what's this for?" shit, is it our anniversary?

No... Our anniversary was last month.

"Iris," Marcus begins as he stands up from the bed, slowly walking over to me. "I know this may seem cheesy and stupid but like I always say, you do this to me... you're my best friend and my love." he winces at how cheesy he's sounding but I encourage him to continue. "We’ve been through so much together and I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend.

Well, what I'm trying to say is, I want to grow old with you, have children, grandchildren, buy a house in the country and watch god awful reality television shows, and well... if you'll let me, I'd like you to be my wife."

I gasp as he slowly bends down on one knee and scavenges for something in his pocket; my cheeks are beginning to hurt from the smile stretched on my face.

"Will you marry me?"

I'm going to write a sequel so stay tuned for that!
