Hey everyone! Well normally I am username Lol5679 but for 'Cloned' I am EpidemicCloned! So this whole book idea began with a dream I had that I really kind of wanted to make a book for. I decided that to make it more special than what else I've done (mostly for me lol) I would give it it's own page. Anyway I hope you enjoy Cloned and please don't be shy to leave a comment or vote :D Oh and the trailer to the right was made by 'alleyneangel'! Go to chapter three to click the dedication to her and go to her page to look at her writings!

Cloned- By Rae Ann Roberts
Prologue- The Future
Fifty years in the future a health Epidemic will wipe out a third of the human race. The only survivors will live in tight knit societies, hoping that one day the population can be restored to what it previously was. However they could never do it in even a few months so the human race has a major chance of becoming extinct. Scientists in the future though have been working day and night for something that may give them a chance. One by the name of Delphine will come up with the answer that will end up doubling the size of the population in a matter of days. Unforeseen consequences will arise though that could be even worse than what the human race had just been put through.
Chapter One- Clone 3
I walked down the corridor with the most confidence I'd had in awhile. For years now I have been working on a cloning device that will double the size of the human race in a matter of days. However every time I thought I came up with something it would fail miserably. My boss was beginning to lose faith in me so now was the day I needed to shine.
As I kept walking a recalled how my brother told me I had it this time. He's always been supportive of me no matter how many times I failed on getting a working cloning device. It had been a miracle for both of us to survive The Epidemic considering it was usually only one person in a family that would survive.
Ever since The Epidemic I had been working my way into the science field. Obviously there were many spots open but you still had to prove your worth to the other scientists. Even before The Epidemic I had been working on something to actually clone a person. The technology always fascinated me and I told myself that one day I would do it. When The Epidemic did strike I was so scared for everyone but when I survived I told myself that I would keep working at my cloning device, this time to help keep the human race alive.
So I joined a couple of scientists who took in my idea and we set to work. The first few tries didn't work and after about a year nothing was working. I remember almost giving up but finally my break happened. We managed to clone a person but after a few days he ended up dying from an unknown cause. We kept working at it and working at it until we cloned another person. This one lasted ten days longer than the other but the person still ended up dying from unknown causes.
Today though I knew I had it. Finally I had found the error to my device and I was ready show the world what I could do.
I pushed my way through the glass doors and into the lab where everyone was busy at work. The lab was dedicated to both my research and tons of other health research that could help in the future.
"Ma'am, Adam and the clone have been living without health issue five months longer than any other clone. Actually today I checked on them and it seems that Adam is perfectly normal yet the clone in almost super human like." My assistant, Gene, was always one for dramatics. However today I thought maybe she was actually right.
I followed Gene over to where Adam and his clone were, ready to observe what was making the clone seem so super human to Gene. The very first thing I noticed upon reaching them was the perfect skin of the clone. Adam had quite a few scars on him and even fresh wounds from getting in a fight the other day. So where the clone should have had the same scars, it was perfect baby skin that looked almost like it glowed.
"The skin isn't the only thing I noticed," spoke Gene beside me. "His eye color is a brilliant purple that I have never seen before. Not only that but it runs faster than any human I've ever met and can lift much more as well. I believe that you didn't only just create a cloning device but also a way to create super humans as well."
Like I said, Gene likes the dramatics. As I pulled the chart from her grasp though I could see that she was telling the truth about what the clone could do. "Has Adam shown any signs of super human qualities?"
"No ma'am, he is the same as he's always been with no health issues though which was all we could hope for." I nodded my head in agreement and gave Gene back her chart. This time I was going to go talk with Adam and the clone.
"How are you two feeling today?" I asked as I reached Adam and the clone. The two of them looked up from what they were doing and immediately I could spot the differences in their appearance. The clone did in fact have the weirdest purple eyes that were actually quite a beautiful sight.
"I feel ready to get out of this lab. Hopefully your meeting goes well today so I won't have to monitored so much anymore," spoke the clone. He had never liked it here and to be honest I had never liked him here either. Of course when he's you only clone to go by you can't just get rid of him.
"Well I believe that this is the day we shine. You and Adam will be able to leave in about a week after we do a few more tests." The clone's eyes shone at the thought of leaving the lab. It was so much like a normal person but the thing is that it isn't anything like Adam. Adam is quiet and laid back, doing everything someone tells him. The clone, however, says anything on it's mind and does barely anything someone tell him. I guess the clone isn't really a true clone but it's the only thing we have right now that could save the human race.
Adam kept on reading his book, studiously trying to forget about leaving the lab. One thing about Adam is that he actually likes it here unlike his clone. He says it's the only place he really feels safe but he knows he won't be able to stay here forever.
"I'm going to need a name before I go into the real world though," spoke the clone from out of the blue.
"Your name is Clone 3 and always will be. You're nothing but a test." The voice that spoke the sentence came behind us and I could see my boss, waiting for me to follow him.
As I followed my boss down the hallway I couldn't help but recall the flash of anger in Clone 3's eyes. It was almost as if he was ready to jump from his seat and kill my boss. Something was very off with Clone 3 and I wanted to find out what it was before something goes terribly wrong.
