                                                                   ATNBB: Ten

Another day, crappy Monday at school, yay! Note the sarcasm. Maria was still ignoring me but still chose to wake me up from not getting fired from her job. I’m thinking of ways to apologise to her, maybe present her with a gift – I’m sure she’d love it or throw it in my face. I sigh. Now time to face the people who must have seen my glorious famous pictures. At the breakfast, Mrs. Jones hands me a cell phone – a blackberry to fact. “Why are you giving me this?” I queried, wondering has she forgiven me already. “No, I haven’t forgiven you if that is why you are wondering but I need to keep in contact with you from now on. I have installed GPS tracker inside that phone, I need to know where you are at all times.” I hug Mrs. Jones, Deb never cared about me – this is the first time I felt loved by somebody.

“Why are you crying, sweetie?” She wipes my tears with a tissue. “Because no one ever done this to me.” I croak out. She hugged me for a long time, rubbing my back. “I care about you too much. Now, off to school.” I let go of her and waved as I walked out of the kitchen. Despite the fact she has forgiven me yet, I love her like my own mom. She’s the mother I always hoped for.

Arriving at school what was I expected, everyone staring at me with amazement. I smirked at them; I guess my image made people wonder who I was. “Popular!” Brody shrieked at the top of his lungs and Penelope kicked him in the shin. I had the urge to laugh but I simply wanted everyone to know there’s one original queen, moi.

I walked through the doors, and yawned in tiredness – I really need a goodnight sleep. I made way to my locker someone grabbed my arm and turned me around. I was greeted by my friends. “Is that beautiful Kara hiding from me? OMG! Why, yes it is,” Cassie bellowed, squeezing me so tight – I think I’m losing oxygen as I speak. “Sorry,” she apologized. Ben was next to hug me and then Gina – finally squeezing me death was finished.

“So did you get in trouble?” Gina looked at me with her eyes, as she quietly said the words. I don’t know what to say – yes of course. Mrs. Jones will never trust me again, matter of fact – I think Alex is still ignoring me even though it should me ignoring him. I will always remember the look on Mrs. Jones: disappointment.  I gave out a tired sigh.

“Yep...she was disappointed in me, guys,” I say, turning around to take out my notepad. Shutting the locker to face them again. “I never had the look before. You may not understand but I wanted to be the daughter Elli- I mean Mrs. Jones wanted besides Penelope.” I looked down at the floor, Mrs. Jones was also upset with herself for not getting me a cell phone but I’m to blame really – she didn’t know where I was, I mean the woman called the cops for goodness sake. “Don’t worry; we’ll get her trust you again in no time but in the meantime. I have gossip to tell you,” Ben says with happiness, Cassie and Gina giggle at his excitement. He coughs breaking up the giggles, “Four words. NEW GUY. HE’S LUSH!” I have never seen Ben so happy before. “It’s true,” Gina piped up. I smile at their joy, funny how one guy can make all my friends excited.

I heard the doors open, Mimi and her clan of minions walk in – I was hoping she’d trip and fall breaking her face against the floor but no luck. She looked over to me and smirked slightly, if she thought she was better than me – she’s so wrong. After them, Jocks and Cheerleaders walked in even though Mimi was part of the cheerleading squad – she liked do the things her own way as you’d put it. Then after that, DRiO – I mean all girls in the halls were screaming for them as if they were celebrities, well Alex, and yes the other two not so sure. The three were very imitating; they were mean to everybody including people who were weaker than them. Our group stared at them, Alex looked over at me – I look away for distraction. After all the commotion, everyone resumed back to where they were – well all girls followed the ‘Populars’. “What a load of bull-” Cassie says, I glared at her to finish her sentence. “What?” She says like it was nothing. “It’s true, they think they can waltz in here and be better than everyone else.” She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
