Sunlight came through the window, making my face heat in a warm way. I grinned with my eyelids closed, I stretched out like a cat. I sit up, pulling my hair back from my face. I open my eyes taking in my surroundings; it was like a dream – living the Jones. I let my fingers lingers the matching red silk sheets until they felt something hard. I turn to see what I felt – Alex lying beside me, arm slung across one of my pillows, his leg over mine. He’s comfortable and so am I. I lay back but onto Alex’s chest which is covered by the white shirt he wore yesterday and the six pack I feel against me is quite rock solid, my fingers run over the front his shirt in a distracted manner.

I’m lying here with Alex Jones on my bed, I don’t know if this is a good idea? Gingerly, I ease myself from Alex, if I wasn’t in my own bed, at this point I’d get up and sneak off home. I haven’t got a home; I got booted out of my own home. I sigh at my predicament – a bit too loudly – and Alex’s eyes open, so I try to grab the duvet but failed miserably. “Hello,” Alex says sleepily. Already, he’s all smiles, what is he smiling about? His fingers lightly caress my stomach causing me to have nice goosebumps all over. Alex snuggles against me. His skin is searing hot –not good for resisting sexual temptation. I want to tell him how I felt, summoning up all of my courage, I say, “Thank you.”

Now he’s wide awake. “What for?”

“For taking me in when nobody cared. Even though, I doubted you because of your reputation.”

He pushes himself up onto his elbow and doesn’t look tired as he should. His finger continues a journey over my stomach. “No need, you are worth it.”

“I’m not worth it,” I say, gradually pulling the duvet around me. “If you weren’t there, I’d be sold to some old rich pig that would be willing to do me.”

Alex look unconvinced and I should have known he wouldn’t believe me, I mean Cassie thought I was pretty and so did Gina – besides I’m in bed with him. “You are worth it,” he tells me with a slight raising his eyebrows. Before I can tell him he’s wrong because all my life not even my own family cared about me, one small problem – the phone rings, I didn’t even know there was a phone in my room; I guess I was too distracted by the room – I let it go to answer machine. “Morning, Kara. It’s Maria, your maid. The sound of Maria’s voice makes me sit up; I hope she doesn’t come into my room – Alex is here. “I’m so, so sorry if I woke you up but we have a busy schedule today. Mrs. Jones wants to talk to you about personal details – she asked me to help you get ready. See you, soon. Bye.” Maria hangs up. Uh-oh. I roll over except I tumble to the floor hitting my a*** hard. Alex chuckles at me, oh very funny. “Alex, you have to go. Now! Maria will see you.” I say, getting up. He lies there, not caring the fact Maria might be on her way up here. What a silly goose.

“Alex,” I say with a sigh. “I don’t need this right now especially at 11 am.”

Alex gets out of bed, walks over to come behind me. He stands close behind, his hands resting on my hips. “I’ll be out of here, don’t worry. Relax,  - I’ll go through the wardrobe.” He tells me, his breathe against my neck.

“Go then. The last thing I need is for you to get in trouble, please just go.” I pleaded, moving away from him. I sit down the bed - I just want to please Mrs. Jones by being on time but with Alex in my room, how do I get him out of here? Alex sits next me and takes my hand. “I promise you I’ll be gone.”
