Edgar's POV:

It had been a long day, Alan and I had been busy working in the comic book store since 8:30am. I looked down at my watch as I collapsed onto the counter, it read 9:03pm. The store closed at 9 and the last of the customers were just leaving.

Since my best friend, Sam, my brother, Alan and I brutally murdered all the vampires that were lurking around Santa Carla a few years back, we have been out of the vampire slaying business. Life gets boring when you're not hunting Vampires, not too much happens around Santa Carla anymore.

I saw Sam walking towards the entrance of the shop. Since it was a Friday night, we had arranged to hang around the boardwalk and get some take-out. I was so relieved to see him, something was up with Alan and I wasn't sure what it was. He'd been acting strange since this morning when a girl about our age entered the store. He look kind of panicked.

Sam's POV:

I approached the large doors of the comic book store. Edgar was sitting on the bench reading some paperwork. I couldn't see Alan.

"Where's Alan?" I asked Edgar as I walked into the store.
"Nice to see you too," he said sarcastically, not looking up from his paperwork. I ignored him and walked into the backroom. I figured Alan was in there if he wasn't in the store.

Alan's POV:

I was having trouble concentrating since Delilah came into the store earlier. She scares me. big time. I first came across her on the boardwalk, I didn't take much notice of her but apparently she did of me. Because that night she came knocking on my window. I don't know how she found my house, but I know she was looking for me. Not my parents and not Edgar. Me. I couldn't sleep the rest of that night. She was gone before I could catch a glimpse of her face but I knew it was her. She told me that day that she would find me and make me her's. I was so frightened. That happened about a week ago. I hadn't seen her since then until this morning when she came into the store. I don't if she genuinely wanted a comic or if she was looking for me but wasn't about to take any chances. I hid behind the counter, almost hyperventilating. I didn't know what to do. I hadn't told anyone about her yet. Not even Edgar.

The door slammed. I turned around, coming face-to-face with Sam.
"You should've seen your face!" Sam laughed.
"That wasn't funny man" I replied, turning back around to sort through some papers. I had to keep my mind busy in order to avoid thinking about Delilah.
"Aye Alan, what's wrong? You look worried," asked Sam. He seemed genuinely concerned. I considered telling him everything, he was my best friend after all.

I was about to explain when Edgar burst through the door.
"I'm hungry, can we go grab something to eat? Please?" he pleaded.
"Yeah, me too. Let's go," I agreed. I was kind of glad that happened, but kind of disappointed too.
"Tell me after," Sam whispered in my ear as we left the shop. I'm so lucky to have such a kind, caring best friend.

Authors note:
Thoughts? And what's up with Delilah? thanks so much! I changed my mind about only posting the story when it's completely finished so here's the first chapter.
