Alan's POV:

We entered the hospital, my back throbbing and Edgar still unconscious.
"We need help! Quick!" I heard Michael yell. 5 nurses hurried over and called out for two stretchers. They put Edgar on one, and me on another. They wheeled me away from Edgar, taking me into a large room crowded with nurses and doctors. So many people were leaning over me, asking me questions and giving me medicines. No one I knew was in there with me and it was overwhelming. I couldn't stop thinking about Edgar. I had no idea whatsoever if he was okay, if he was awake or if he was dead

My vision was blurring and I kept fading in and out of consciousness. Soon, everyone's voices became background noises and I couldn't concentrate.

I woke up in a smaller room, with Sam and Marko sitting beside me.
"You're awake!" Sam said excitedly.
"Wha...what happened?" my speech was slurred and my head was pounding.
"You damaged some of your vital organs and cracked a few ribs. You came out of surgery about an hour ago." Sam explained. I threw my head back.
"What's going to happen?" I asked.
"You're gonna be in a wheelchair for a while, but you're okay." Sam said, gently patting my shoulder. That was when I remembered Edgar.
"How's Edgar?" I asked. I was really scared and concerned. I didn't know what was going to happen with him.
Marko stood up and said,
"Not so good. He was poisoned with an unknown substance. They're trying everything to revive him but I wouldn't get your hopes up. I'm so sorry, Alan."
I was speechless. I could very well lose my brother. It was impossible to imagine life without him, I just couldn't bear it. I felt sick in the stomach and my head started pounding even more. I tried sitting up but I got a sharp pain in my ribs. I could barely move.
"When can we see him?" I asked. I just wanted to see my brother one last time.
"They said that no one can see him until he wakes up." Marko explained.

I was about to scream in anger when a nurse barged in. She placed a tray with a sandwich and a glass of orange juice on my bed.
"Eat up, you need your health back." She said, not even looking at me. She looked over to see the chairs where Sam and Marko were sitting out of place. She grunted and straightened them back up.
When she left, Sam walked over and moved the chair. I couldn't help but laugh, he was trying every thing to cheer me up.
"What are we going to tell your parents when they get back?" Sam asked. I hadn't thought about this. God, why was I going to say? Hope you had a good time on your trip, by the way, Edgar was poisoned by a vampire and died?
"I don't know." I sighed, taking a sip of the juice. It was thin and watered down. I took a bite of the sandwich. The bread was soggy and the meat was frozen. I put it back down and sighed. This was all my fault, none of this would have happened if I'd agreed to love Delilah.

I was drifting off to sleep, when I was wakened by a loud beep in the next room.
