Alan's POV:

we entered a burger joint about 3 doors down form the comic store. my stomach was rumbling and I had a huge headache. I needed food.

We sat down at a bench in front of the TV. We always had to sit in front of the TV on Friday nights because Sam wanted to watch MTV. It had become regular to us.
"You guys tryna spy on our date?" I heard a voice behind us say. I turned around. Sam's older brother Michael and his girlfriend, Star were sitting behind us.

"Really Michael? Really? Of all the places on the boardwalk you choose here?" Sam said, obviously annoyed.
"We were here first!" Chuckled Michael as he turned back around.
"Of course! My stupid brother has to ruin everything!" Sam complained
"It's not that bad. You don't have to talk to him," said Edgar. He obviously didn't care, he was just sick of Sam's complaining. I picked up a menu and looked at the choices. I needed to get Delilah off my mind and I was willing to do anything.
"I'll go order, what will you guys have?"
"Double cheeseburger with fries and no pickles for me," replied Sam
"Same here," Added Edgar.
"I guess that makes three of us," I said, packing up the menus and getting out of my seat.

I was placing my order when I sensed someone watching me. Naturally, I turned around. It was Delilah. She was standing behind me. I shrieked out of panic. I didn't know what to do. I could feel sweat forming on my neck and my mind was racing, my heart pumping at a rate of knots. I didn't want to be near her, she scared me more than anything.

She grabbed the back of my head and yanked me closer to her.
"Owww!" I yelled. She put a long skinny finger over my lips, signally for me to shut up. Her long, black nails pressed against my skin. She leaned closer to me. I was in complete shock. I was so scared, I could've fainted at any second.
"Listed here Alan. One day, I will make you mine. And I will terminate anyone who stands in my way," she whispered into my ear. Her breath was warm and reeked of fish, it was disgusting. She laughed and released my hair. She had been pulling so tight that my vision had blurred and in the time that it took me to refocus, she was gone.

"What was that!?" Asked the young man behind the counter.
"To be honest, I'm not sure," I replied faintly. My voice was shaky and I felt dizzy. I needed to sit down.
"That will be 18 dollars and 65 cents," said the man. I couldn't concentrate. I felt delirious. Why was this girl interested in me? And why was she so quick? The man grunted, hinting at me that I needed to pay.
"Oh, right. Sorry" I apologised and reached into my pocket, pulling out a twenty.
"Keep the change," I said. The man grinned and said,
"thanks."

I walked back to the table and saw Sam and Edgar laughing. They turned and saw me.
"Oh man,you should've seen your face! That was hilarious!" Giggled Sam.
"Yeah! You squealed so loud! If I didn't know any better, I would've thought you were being murdered!" Joked Edgar.
"Haha! Very funny guys," I rolled my eyes.
"I need to go to the bathroom- and so does Sam," I said, yanking Sam up from the table and dragging him across the restaurant.
"Uh..okay..yeah...um," He stuttered, struggling to get out of my grip.
"You just gonna leave me here?!?" Shouted Edgar.
"We'll be back soon!" I yelled back.

"Let Go! Yelped Sam. I was pinching his arm.
"Did you see her?! The girl?" I asked.
"The one that made you scream?!" Giggled Sam. I pinched his ear.
"Ow ow ow ow let go let go!" He said.
"Yeah, well, she's been tracking me down all I'm the past week. I have no idea who she is. She said she's gonna make me hers and she'll terminate anyone who gets in her way," I said. Sam was staring at me, mouth wide open.
"Creepy, I know. She even came to my house!" I exclaimed.
"Do you know who she is?" I asked.
"Nope, never seen her before," Sam said. I sighed. I was hoping this was all just a joke or something.
"We should get back to the table, our food's probably ready," Sam said, pushing past me. I followed him, but I didn't say anything.

As is stepped out into the (bright sunlight 😂 sorry, I had too) fluorescent lights, I looked around. I was nervous. My forehead was sweating. Sam was standing over at our table. Our food was there and untouched but Edgar was gone. As I got closer, I saw a clump of his long hair lying on the table with a note. It read:

He tried to defend you. I told you so.

I felt sick. Sam was pale. I collapsed onto the seat.
"What does this mean? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" Sam screamed. The room went silent, everyone was staring at us.
"Oh god, oh god. We have to go find him!" I blurted. I didn't care if everyone was judging me. I had to get my brother back, he didn't have much time.
