Alan's POV:

"What was that?" I asked, panicking. I somehow managed to climb out of bed, despite all the pain I was dealing with, and get into a wheelchair.
"What are you doing?!" Sam yelled, rushing over to me. I ignored him and attempted to wheel myself out of the room. That beep could have been Edgar flatlining, or coming back to life. My back was hurting so badly, I'd lost my breath and I was sweating furiously. I hadn't rolled far when I felt myself being pulled back towards the bed. I looked over my shoulder to see Marko gripping the back of the wheelchair.
"Please, I need to know if that was Edgar." I pleaded.
"You can't do it. Your body won't let you. You physically can't get over there." Sam said, the worry in his voice obvious.
"Well can you go and check for me."
I was almost in tears.
"They won't let me in there!" Sam said.
"Please, just find a way to see if that was Edgar. I need to know if he's okay." I cried.
"Okay." Sam whispered. He leaned over to Marko and whispered something into his ear. Marko nodded and walked out the room, followed by Sam. My arms were tired from wheeling myself and I was hurting so much. I was too weak to climb back into bed, I just had to sit there and wait for someone to come in.

I heard a scream from the room next to mine. I jumped, which made my body hurt even more. I was finding it hard to breath, it felt like my bones were digging into my windpipes.
Sam and Marko came running into the room.

"He's awake!" Sam said, puffing.
I felt my face lit up. I hadn't felt this happy in a long time.
"How did you get in there?" I asked excitedly. Sam and Marko looked at each other and giggled
"Let's just say, a little bit of supernatural powers."
Supernatural powers? What did they mean by that? I shook it off, that didn't matter. The only thing that mattered at the moment was the fact that Edgar was alive and awake.
"Can I go and see him?" I questioned.
Before they could answer, a nurse walked in.
"Great news, Alan. Your brother is awake! We're going to have to keep him in for a while to do some tests, but he's alive and well."
Even though I had already heard the news, I was overjoyed.
"Can I go and see him?" I asked for the second time.
"Sure! I'll wheel you in there, but you can only have a few minutes. They doctors want to do some biopsies." She answered cheerily. This nurse was much nicer than the other one.

She walked over and grabbed onto the handle on the wheelchair. She wheeled me out of my room and into the next.

Edgar was lying on a bed, tubes hooked up to everywhere on his body. There were about a dozen nurses and doctors floating around the room. Edgar looked pale and weak, but he was awake. He turned his head to look and me.
"I'm so glad to see you," He smiled.
