Alan's POV:
It was the middle of the day, so Delilah should have been sleeping.
Sam and I entered the cave slowly and quietly, as to not wake Delilah."Marko, we need to talk." I whisper-shouted, hoping he would hear. There was no response.
It was freezing cold in there, much colder than the morning spring breeze outside."Marko!" Sam shouted, a little louder.
I heard rustling from what seemed like underneath us, it was moving further and further away until we saw Marko emerge from a trapdoor on the other side of the cave. He was moving fast and he looked kind of frightened."What are you doing in here?" He yelled.
"I thought you were Delilah, nyou scared me!" He added."We need to ask you a question." I said bravely, looking him straight in the eyes.
"Okay, but not here. Delilah might come back and she'll kill me if she sees i'm not killing you two." He replied.
That went down a lot easier than I thought it would. I thought that we would have to threaten him or something.Sam and I followed Marko out of the cave and onto he Boardwalk. As soon as he stepped into the sunlight, I panicked. Wasn't he going to burn?
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" I screeched, grabbing his hand and attempting to pull him into shade. That backfired, and instead his hand came off.
"AHHHHHH," Sam and I screamed. Marko sighed, grabbed his hand and put it back on.
"Dude, you killed me. I'm a ghost now, I can do anything. That sunlight; it ain't gonna kill me." He explained.
Sam grabbed me and we both stepped backwards in a huddle. Marko could and quite possibly will kill us if he wanted to. We had to be careful.
"Let's go, before you draw too much attention to yourselves." Marko said, walking down the boardwalk and into an ice cream shop.
"Holy god." Sam muttered as we slowly trailed behind Marko. We entered the shop and ordered some sundaes. Sam, Marko and I sat down at a corner table, out of sight to everyone else in the shop.
"What do you want to ask me?" Marko said.
"We wanted to know if Delilah was related to Max in anyway." Sam said quietly.Marko's face went blank, he closed his eyes and buried his head in his hands, shaking his head. He then hit his head gently on the table and sighed,
"Why did you have to ask? I never wanted to have to answer this question."
"We thought that maybe she wanted me, for revenge, since we killed Max." I said.
Marko looked up. His face was red and blotchy. It looked like he had been crying.
"She's after you because she loves you, but she doesn't love you in a way that seems normal to regular people." He said.
"Was she related to Max?" Sam repeated, getting frustrated."I, I can't tell you," he stuttered.
"Why not?" Sam demanded.
"I just can't, okay? There's just some things that you can't know. It's for your own good."
"TELL ME!" Sam screamed, banging his hands on the table.I looked around, the whole shop was staring at us, shocked. Sam looked at me, then at Marko, then back at me.
"What do I do?" He pleaded.
"I don't know!" I replied. A crowd was gathering. Marko stood up on the table.
"I'm having a child, and I promised my wife I wouldn't tell anyone of the gender of the baby. Sam's a bit impatient." He announced. Everyone sat back down, looking disappointed. Marko got down and said,
"You're welcome."
"Thanks." Sam said, snarky."Can you please just tell us if she's related to Max?" I pleaded.
"You wouldn't understand." He said.
"Yes I would. Do you know how desperate I am? She's got my brother, and he could be dead. She's threatening to take Sam next." I said.
"Yeah, you might want to watch your back. She's planning on taking you sometime in the next week." He said, looking at Sam. Sam swallowed.
"Marko, can you just tell us if she's related to Max. It can just be yes or no, nothing else. We'll let you go after that, we just need to know." I said calmly, even though I was raging inside.
"Alright. I'll tell you." He sighed.-------
