My Love

'Can't you see you could do so much better, prettier, smarter, stronger, happier?' She'd asked me.

But love, you just don't get it.

Never have I seen
such an intelligent brain like yours, intelligent thoughts, intelligent eyes.
Your eyes say everything - lacking words, yet speaking louder, clearer than any tongue could.

Never have I seen
Such a pretty face - pretty mind.
Every atom that makes up your very existence, are the most beautiful things I've seen.
Your mind is a forest - waiting to be explored.
Made up of many beautiful things, adding together to create a landscape.
So complicated, yet so simple.
Your mind is a maze;
A place that, even you, have not managed to escape,
To understand.

Never have I seen
Someone with the same strength as you.
That fights every battle coming towards her, despite knowing the consequences.
That keeps fighting, until she wins.
That goes through everything, yet stays - doesn't give up.
Where I would've backed down, you fight harder.

And as for happiness;
That's a thing that comes with time.
With control.
With persistence.

I will try, with my every being, to make you happy.
To create a smile that reaches those ocean blue eyes.
To calm those cold, crashing waves,
Into serene, dancing waves.

'Can't you see you could do so much better, prettier, smarter, stronger, happier?'

No, love. I can't see.
My love for you has clearly blinded me.

50% of the stuff I post is old stuff that I've found and this was like the first poem - if you can even call it that - I wrote. It's not good and it's cheesy but it's so cute. Crushes make me very deep (as seen in pretty much every part of this book)

'My Love', alternatively titled 'Never Have I Seen'
