I got out of my bed and walked out into the hallway.

I was kind of nervous, it would be the first time I would be near anything related to my grandpa for.. almost a week.

I finally reached his door, and I opened it.

I was immediately hit with his scent. Like, the way a person smells, naturally, you know? It made my eyes fill with water, threatening to spill.

I took a deep breath, and I entered the room.

My eyes roamed around the whole area. It was really clean. His closet was still open from the last time he used it. His bed was neatly made. The desk to his computer was nice and tidy, and everything was just so... perfect. I wanted to sit right down on the floor and start crying. Just sitting there, like a nervous wreck, bawling my eyes out.

But no, I had a job to get done.

I started with some boxes that I knew were under his bed.

Laying on my stomach, I pulled the edge of the blanket nearest to the floor aside and started to scavenge for items related to anything in the past. All I found were some books by James Patterson, and a sock.
Fabulous.

I then moved to the cardboard box under his computer desk.

I sat on my knees and gently pulled it out from its place under the desk; moved a couple of CD's and movies aside that we had purchased earlier that year, and continued digging.

All that was underneath was some printer paper, a blanket, and more movies that we used to watch together.

I pushed the box back under the desk, letting out a heavy sigh.

This is hopeless. He wouldn't of left anything in here so obvious and easy to find. I thought to myself.

Unless...

Quickly, I sat up and crawled over to the closet. I rummaged through his stuff, at a quicker pace now. Immediately I looked through the bottom first.

Nothing.

I looked in the drawers, still nothing.
Finally, I glanced at the top shelf, and saw a strange wooden box, that had a clock on it?

Scrambling to my feet, I dragged his desk chair over to a point where I could easily reach the clock while standing on the chair.

Stepping up on the top of the chair, I pulled the box down carefully. It felt really heavy in my hands... that was promising, I guess.

I climbed down from the chair, set the box on his dresser, and returned the chair to the place it was before I moved it.

Quickly, I left the room and scurried back to my own, closing his door behind me... after grabbing the box of course. Once I was in my bedroom, I closed the door, and let out a sigh of relief, sliding down my door.

I regained my breath, and crawled to the center of my floor and sat the box down in-front of me.

Then, I lifted the lid.

What the heck was she doing? Why wont she answer any of my texts? I wondered.

I sat in my bedroom, my phone in my hands trying to get a hold of Jackie.

I was lonely, I needed company, and I wanted to make sure she was ok. I almost walked over to her house, just to check on her.

But I mean, that's a little strange. First, I sleep with her, then I make her breakfast and eat with her, and then I leave and go over to Andrews house, why did he need me so badly to help him clean? I dont know!

And now here I am, desperately wanting to check on her, and make sure she is ok. I texted her once more, hoping for an answer.

Jay? Are you ok? Why won't you answer me?

I then sat my phone on my chest, and laid back on my bed sighing. Its no use, she is probably fine.

Jackie P.O.V

What on earth is this!?  I said in my head.

I slowly took the strange silver object out of the box. It was oval shaped, and kind of small. It had an 'up' arrow on the left side, a 'down' arrow on the right side, and in between those buttons was a blank screen. I turned it around, admiring every part of the shiny oval figure in front of me. Then, flipped it upside down, and I found a note.

For Jackie,

When it is time, and you have guessed nearly everything that could of happened back in time, use this. You will only be able to find it when I have passed, because that's the only way I would of let you find it. I'm sorry we couldn't finish our discussion, but hopefully this will answer all of your questions. Have fun, and be safe.

Love, Grandpa

How did he know I would find this? What does he mean, "hopefully this will answer all of your questions"? How can a little silver oval answer all my questions?

Wait.

Is this a.... time machine?
