Cody's POV

I was sitting in my room thinking about what the man in the library said to me. They are willing to help me find my family, the assassins are willing to help me. I am a not even a high ranking assassin, I am just a novice as I played with

my blade. As I was thinking Maddie came into my room to say goodnight. "Maddie how do you feel after dinner?" I ask her. "Conflicted..." she says. "So do you still consider me your sister?" I asked. "Of course I do" she says, hugging me "You and Rose will always be my sisters. Why do you ask that?""I just thought that you would just forget me and Rose. Also will move back in with your real family?"

Maddie POV

I sighed. I'd been dreading this question since I first learned Adam was supposedly my brother. "I don't know." I finally decided. "But no matter what I decide I will never forget you or Rose." I said Cody nodded and after giving her a final hug I went to my room. I examined the quilt on the bed for a moment, it was one of the items that seemed familiar. I learned at dinner some of the items in the house were ones recovered from the fire. I admired it as I fell asleep.

Cody's POV

I was running, running, tripping over roots, twigs scratching my arms and legs. I heard yelling and I saw people carrying torches. Templars. The assassins enemy, they wanted me dead. Then I wake up sweating and crying. I remember the fear I had on that night. I started crying into my hands thinking about my nightmare. Then Maddie comes rushing in. She asks me what happened.

I told her about my nightmare. About what happened on that night.

Maddie POV

I hugged Cody, reassuring her. "Everything's alright now." I said. She nodded between sobs. "And everything will continue to be alright." I said. "Ok..." she said quietly. I hugged her a while longer then decided to change the subject. I told her about Adam's horse Midnight, which seemed to cheer her up a bit. "Don't worry Cody, Rose and I won't let the Templars anywhere near you." I promised. "Alright." she replied.

Cody's POV

"Maddie" I said "there is something that I did not tell you at the library." Maddie gave a look that seemed to say continue on. "Before you came and found me a man approached me saying he was an assassin with the brotherhood, the brotherhood has decided to

help me find out about my family. And that tomorrow night I have been asked to meet with them and talk. So please do not worry about me for tomorrow night I will be fine but I will to be back her-"

Maddie's POV

"I'm coming too." I stated. "Maddie it's not safe for you. I'll be back here soon." Cody replied. I was not about to let my sister go alone. Whether she approved my coming or not, I planned to be there. But knowing me well, she saw that I was planning something. "Maddie, I'll be fine, I promise." I was going even if I had to follow in the shadows. "Alright." I said, feeling guilty for my dishonesty. I went back to my room and put together what I would need to follow her if I couldn't convince her to let me come. "Are you leaving?" A sleepy voice asked with a yawn. Adam was standing in the doorway, half asleep.

"No, just taking care of something." I replied "Ok good. We just got you back, I don't want you to go so soon." He said. "Don't worry, I'll stick around for now." I reassured. Adam left back to his room and I finished packing.

I fell asleep thinking of what I would do about the situation. The next morning i walked out to the stable. Storm Dancer was still asleep but Midnight and Rusty were wide awake. Someone had put a grooming kit outside of their stalls.

I groomed and fed rusty then moved on to Midnight. The mare curiously sniffed my hands and pockets for treats. I groomed and fed her and stepped back to admire them. Then, a horse at the end of the aisle caught my attention. An old white mustang. I

walked over and he nickered at me, a very friendly greeting in horse terms. There was something familiar about this horse, the soft eyes, the gentle nature, his shape, how he seemed to have recognized me. In fact he seemed very familiar. I studied him for a while then it hit me. Hades. I didn't know from where or how I knew that name but I was sure it belonged to the horse. I decided to ask about him later
