Chapter 5

Cody's POV

Knowing that Maddie would follow me I decided that I would not ride Storm tonight and go by foot. The one thing that I didn't tell Maddie that is that the man from the library was going to escort me to the location of the meeting. I check my blade and jump out the window making sure to stick to the shadows. I arrive at the library to see the man standing outside. We started off to the location, in my mind hoping that Maddie stayed at her family's home.

Maddie's POV

What was that? I thought. I had definitely heard something outside half asleep, I put on my cloak and went to investigate. With My hood up I stuck to the shadows, I walked around the house listening for anything at all. As I came outside of Cody's

room I noticed part of a patch of wild flowers laid flat, almost as if someone had landed on them... Wide awake now, I walked in the shadows. A quiet whine caught my attention, Storm Dancer was sticking his head out of his stall. He looked around

curiously. Why is he awake? I wondered. Then I knew. The wind was blowing toward the stable, the horses could smell anyone who walked this way. If Storm Dancer woke up it was because Cody walked by. To further prove the point I heard a soft whinny

from Rusty's stall. I started walking in the direction Storm was looking, the direction he most likely saw her last. Taking a horse would be faster but the risk of being caught would be greater.

Rose's POV

Run Angel come on quickly. I kept on hearing my last fight with my sisters. Anthony and I are currently in a fight of dominance. Anthony is only related to me on my mother's side, but our, Anthony thinks he should rule because well my, father is the one who used to rule or empire he is older. But I on the other hand am of age and have my father's blood coursing through my veins. Then I was snapped back into reality when Angel started to buck. I try to calm her down, she had seemed to be spooked by the wight. I look back if small animal had scared her, but to my surprise I see my old warlock friend Berit sitting on the back of my horse. Oh... I did not see you there I stated. "Oh I like to pop up sometimes." She replied grinning. I see that I answered. " So I have heard that you missing somethings? Am I correct?" She asked. Oh goodness is she going to do this mind reading thing for long. I thought to myself. "Yes I am!" she responded. "So you are trying to find Maddie and Cody, I can find them in no time". She said with a sly smile. I thought about this for a moment, would I risk Maddie and Cody's safety to a person that they do not know. I finally answered,"Yes. Please try your best to bring them back. "Alright, I will collect the little ankle biters and see why they are in Paris.
