Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it for no one must know the truth

She smiled through the tears
She laughed through the pain
She lies through the heartbreak
She becomes numb to everything

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it until you can no longer fake it

His eyes held no joy
His wrists were covered with bracelets
His nights are restless
His life becomes his personal hell

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it since nobody understands

She breaks but nobody sees
She's dying but nobody knows
She cries but nobody hears
She's becoming numb to everything

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it so they won't leave

He sees the truth behind the lies
He sees the tears behind the smile
He sees the life that was once there
He picks up the pieces nobody else would

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it so they wont laugh at you

She laughed because of him
She smiled because of him
She opened because of him
She felt alive again

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it for there's nothing left to do

He no longer had restless nights
He no longer wore bracelets
He no longer felt alone
He told the broken girl he loved her

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it for nothing good stays

She started to feel only to feel pain
She started to crumble when the cracks got bigger
She started to believe in love only to find out its not true
She's once again destroyed

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Fake it for it's the only thing you know how to do

He took her heart, but didn't give his in return
He left not realizing what he done
He took no note that the broken girl broke more
He left hurting her with a smile

Fake a smile
Fake a laugh
Fake the happiness you once had
Just fake it

She smiles once again hiding the pain
He smiles thinking everything's alright
She cries knowing she can't have him
He laughs at jokes because he feels alive again
She looks at the ceiling not wanting to dream of him
He's peacefully sleeping the night away

When you put two broken people together, they either try to fix each other or just break each other further. In this case one was fix whole while the other one was broken further.
