An unknown figure
Standing beside me
And lately I feel I know them .
It follows me
With very soft feet
Almost like a ghost
He follows me
With its hooded face
And tired eyes
And a black neck and arms
Like its living in my shadow
Or rather is it
But we are not the same person
He's who I used to be that is
We had a fight and he went off that night
Not to be seen again
I know him as well as I know myself
He finds comfort in others pain
And struggles with being me
Yet all he ever tells me
Is that I have to be mean
He wants me dead
He wants my brain
So he can be himself
We all have them
Yet not all are dark
They feed off our fear
When some of them stay where heaven embarks
But others stay with you
While some go to hell
None make the sound
Not all are close
Some may be far
But the distance is safety
For all the in-betweens
For the unsafe places
Are where most feed
As far as we know
We all have fears
So we all have our differences
And we all know the tears
We all have our fates
Yet some still remain
In the hands of your blurry face
Just don't let him rein
