just me, her, and the moon

"Shawn, we're taking off!" y/n giggled hopping in the little red wagon.

"Three, two, one!" I shouted pulling the wagon around the front yard feeling all the bumps and rocks hit the wheels.

She giggled holding onto the side as I pulled her down the road and back to her house. I looked back at her catching a glimpse of her golden eyes. Her small laugh filling my ears and her smile engraving in my head.

"Shawn! Too the moon!" y/n giggled pointing her small finger in the direction towards the sky.

"Shawn! Y/N! Come inside and eat!" I heard my mommy yell.

"Maybe next time y/n! I promise to take you to the moon" I smiled.

She giggled and blushed.

"It's pizza time!" My mommy shouted again.

We both cheered quickly running inside. Our little feet hitting the pavement.

"Those were some good times huh?" y/n chuckled holding my hand as I laid in bed.

I smiled and nodded.

"Liam suppose to come by and say goodbye" she said.

I looked up at her and nodded not really caring that her boyfriend was coming by.

"y/n?"I sighed playing with her fingers.

She looked down at me and smiled.

"The one thing that I've always wanted to do was i-is to k-kiss you" I stuttered.

She smiled and giggled a little. I heard the doorbell ring making us both jump.

"That's probably Liam" she said standing up and walking out of my room.

I looked around my dark room feeling tears welt up inside of me.

"Hey Shawn" Liam chuckled walking in scratching the back of his head running his fingers through his hair.

I wish I could do that.

"Hey Liam" I smiled.

He sat in the chair next to me and sighed looking up at y/n who sat back in her spot right next to me.

"Do you think you're ready Shawnie?" she asked tears welling up inside.

I let a couple tears fall and nodded. She called my mom asking how to turn off the machine connecting to my arm and nose. I covered my face and sobbed into my hand.

"I'm so sorry Shawn" Liam said patting my arm.

I shook my head and sniffled. y/n came back in tears streaming down her face.

"I'll give you two a minute" Liam nodded heading out.

"I think you deserve this now" y/n smiled leaning in pressing her soft pink plump lips on mine.

I knew they would be. I smiled when she let go and thanked her.

"I'm so sorry, you have to go through this alone Shawn I-"

"y/n, please let me have the last word between us okay?" I chuckled holding her hand.

She sniffled and nodded.

"I will and always have loved you. Ever since I saw you sitting in that little red wagon, I thought you were the most beautiful person I've ever seen" I smiled.

She sobbed uncontrollably into my shoulder as I hugged her tightly. Liam walked back in and I felt my eyes getting drowsy.

"Liam, one more thing" I sighed.

I held onto y/n's hand giving her a small smile. He smiled waiting patiently for me to take my last breath. I looked back at y/n and smiled again kissing the top of her hand.

"Promise to take her to the moon...Okay?"
