Does money completely define a person's worth? Muggle or wizard, Dollar or galleons; moneys seems to have the ability of transcending boundaries. That ability is what often results in its great value remaining regardless of difference in country, continent or even magical abilities. Now, without doubt, money is highly important. However is it important enough to determine a person's value regardless of what should actually be judged; who they actually are? The answer, Hermoine later found out, is yes, unfortunately.

Whether you're in New York, Hogwarts or Zimbabwe it did not matter for money seems to rule the world to a terrifying extent. We do everything in our live to win money in order to live. Hermoine accepted that a long time ago, she even thought it gave the world a chaotic form of organization. She accepted the fact that she wasn't the richest in the school neither in the Muggle world a long time ago. Regardless, she also acknowledged that she never lacked a roof over her bushy head or food on the table. As she grew, however, she realized something very disturbing. With money, comes lots of luxuries; however something far more unpleasant seems to tag along.

Power.

Power that was not deserved, and therefore respect that was never earned. That's what angered Hermoine the most, not the fact that she didn't have a lot of money but the fact that some work so hard for it only to get 1% of what others ,who don't put any effort, tend to posses.  She remembered the quote "What a weary time those years were -- to have the desire and the need to live but not the ability." and slowly began to understand it as she grew and saw injustice unfold around her.

Perhaps that explained a big part of her hatred towards Malfoy. How he never had to work for anything in his life while others had to slave only to get a tiny bit of what he experiences daily. She was trying to break down the basis of her hatred towards the boy besides the "I'm bullying you for something you can't control" usual.

She was  sitting in the library contemplating her life and decisions one has to take, her homework in front of her surprisingly not done, when once again the chair next to her screeched for the umpteenth time: signaling that people in this school don't seem know the concept of an invitation. It was safe to say that Hermoine was not surprised by this point.

She turned her head to look at said person that lacked manner and was extremely shocked (not) to find Pansy Parkinson. Hermoine began to gather her stuff, not forgetting what the last gathering between her and Parkinson had led to; a murderous blonde and a bruised chin that lasted for 3 whole days.

A skinny manicured hand reached out to grab Hermoine and sat her back in her previous place because god forbid Hermoine actually goes to the library without a dramatic confrontation that follows.

"Sit" was the order Pansy gave her.

Hermoine, for the first time, forced herself to sit and comply as she just wanted to head back to her dorm without trouble. She waited, not looking at the other girl, no -woman , for her to say what she came to say.

"I came here to discuss something with you"

Hermoine wanted to state how that was beyond the valley of obvious but she remained silent.

"Draco. It's about him"

She knew that too but once again Hermoine stayed quiet.

"You're not going to talk; well that's a genuine surprise. Alright then let me begin"

Finally, Hermoine thought. She was about to leave if Parkinson tried to be mysterious once more, it simply did not suit the obnoxious girl. Hermoine wanted to tell her to leave that theme to her boyfriend since he seems to be an expert. But before anything could come out of her mouth, Pansy started.

"Don't bother Draco. Don't give me that face because you do bother him whether you see it or not, you bother us all to be perfectly honest but that's another topic for another time."

That statement angered Hermoine quite a bit, she was about to knock Pansy's skinny body out of the chair when she was interrupted for the tenth time that evening.

"Just don't talk and listen , not that your opinion ever mattered in the beginning."

Hermoine closed her "o" shaped mouth. No, she didn't do it because Parkinson told her to but she acknowledged not talking in this scenario was the fastest way to get out of it. So she stayed quiet regardless of how strongly her tongue wanted to move in certain ways that held promises of harsh words and hurtful intentions.

"You don't understand what Malfoy, as you call Draco, is going through nor am i going to ask you because i know its beyond your capabilities. I don't mean that as an insult, i have much better insults for better upcoming events. All I'm saying is don't try to understand him; don't look for the reasoning behind his action because you will not find one solid explanation. Don't try to make it more than it is, go on hating him and don't see him as anything other than a villain. Because, Granger, regardless of how you think you have found a solution to his problems, you failed. The solution would have likely succeeded in your world but not in our grimy one. Don't give him something he can't hold within his hands. Torture is what some would call that act."

There it was what, Hermoine stayed 10 whole minutes in Pansy's presence for.

"Questions?"  Pansy asked already knowing the answer, " Cmon , i know that big brain of yours, which might explain the abnormal forehead, is dying to ask me at least one pesky question"

Hermoine let the comment about her forehead slip, which she thought was fine, because she really wanted to understand this weeny teeny detail that people seemed to assume constantly, which ticked her off a teeny bit.

"What makes you think I'm planning to help him?" She asked.

The black haired woman raised her finely groomed eyebrows.

"No, really, what gives you this idea that others seem to share? Yes, I enjoy helping people, that much is obvious enough but only those who are worthy of my help. Those who are capable of placing the effort one puts in them into something good. Do you think Malfoy, someone who relentlessly put much energy into making me feel worthless, is worth the effort!? Not from anyone else too but from me? Me, personally, i don't think so."

Exasperated , Hermoine finished what she had to say with the intention of only leaving without giving a chance for Pansy's likely snide response.

The next time someone is going to interrupt Hermione's time in the library because of anything, Malfoy or not, she was going to curse them. Bad.  She wasn't Hermoine Ganger for naught.
