I woke up the next morning and smiled when I opened my eyes and saw my room. A week ago if someone told me I'd be living in my own house far away from my father, I'd laugh in their face. I stretched then went to my closet to pick a pair of clothes to wear for the day. It is hot today so I wore shorts and a white tank top. I decided to walk barefoot. It is my own house so I can wear whatever I want. I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and comb my hair. When I walked back into my room to put on my bracelet and necklaces that were safely put away in my bedside table, I saw that photo again. The whole night I tossed and turned with the war of emotions inside of me. I stared at the photo until I finally fell asleep. Now seeing the photo made my heart sink. I hate this! I turned and walked out the room without even bothering about getting my jewellery. I took out a bowl and make myself a bowl of cereal. I should really find some work otherwise I'll run out of money. I'll ask Tasha when she arrives.

I washed the dishes when I finished then went to Star. She was waiting for me there. I gave her hay then cleaned her stall. Then I took the bucket to the tap outside and got some water for her that I poured in her drinking place. Then I saw a brush and combed her down. I check her hooves to see if there's any stones in there. Luckily not. I left her to her food and water and walked back into the house. I busied myself with rearranging the furniture a bit to suit me. Then went outside to get fresh air and draw anything the interests me. I got bored after a while so I went back inside to drink a tall glass of water. The knocks on the door told me of their arrival. I opened the door and Naomi hugged me.

"Afternoon Tracy" Tasha said behind Naomi.

"Afternoon. Come in. Do you want anything?" I asked while walking inside.

Albert wasn't with them because he needed to work to get money for his family. The rest of them came in.

"A glass of water will be ok" she said.

All of them nodded. I quickly went into the kitchen so I could escape Harry's eyes. I walk into the lounge with a tray of glasses. I gave everyone a glass. Harry's fingers touched mine when I gave it to him and I quickly took my hand away. Luckily he held the glass before it fell. I entered the kitchen again, put the tray down and took a deep breath to control my emotions then walked back into the lounge with another glass of water for myself.

"So are you enjoying your new home?" Tasha asked.

"A lot. I feel at home here. The other place I stayed at for my whole life didn't" I replied.

"But I'd love to live there" Naomi said dreamily.

"You wouldn't. It's not really nice that you get lost in the empty hallways of your own home" I said.

"Oh ok" she replied.

"Where's the bathroom?" Harry asked obviously not comfortable in my presence.

"Upstairs first door to the right" I replied.

He nodded a thank you the left. They gave us curious looks. Probably wondering what happened. Yesterday we were happy and not fighting now we are quiet and won't meet each other's eyes. I took sips from my glass while the room became quiet.

"So do you think there's jobs for me in this village? I need to earn money or I'll run out" I said breaking the silence.

"You could work in the restaurant. My friend works there and says they are looking for someone to hire" Naomi said.

"Yeah that will be great for Tracy. I mean she can obviously carry plates and trays" Hector said.

"That will be great" I said.

"I'll ask her today if you could start tomorrow" Naomi said.

"Thank you" I said hugging her.

She giggled and said, "My pleasure".
