I got home finally. I wanted to break down and cry as soon as I got into the house. I had tears falling and I was holding in my sobs. But when I opened the door, my mom had company. Her old co worker from when we lived in Chicago, Helen. Helen was one of those middle aged moms who's super protective of her children. That type of butthurt mom to protest against the legalization of cannabis.
I don't know if she had her son Greg over. Greg was my age and has red hair with blue eyes. He had freckles all over his face and a mouth full of metal. Not completely unfortunate looking, but he's not my type. I had my first kiss with him when we were in his mother's garden. We were 6 years old at the time and I kinda had feelings for him. But anyway, they were over my house and I had to put on my phony smile."Oh, look at you, Christina! You look like a woman already."
"Hi, Mrs. Helen I haven't seen you in since we moved. What brings you out here in the suburbs?"
"Well, Me and Greg just moved out here and Greg is going to Prairie High with you."
"Really? Oh that's really cool. Well, I'm going to go to my room."
"Why don't you go talk to Greg? He's in the basement waiting on you. I remember when you two were 6 and kissed in my garden."
"Oh god can we please not talk about it."
"She has a boyfriend names Miles. Quite the cutie too."
"Mom, not anymore. We broke up."
"What?! What happened, hun?"
"It's pretty personal i'll tell you later."
I went down to my basement and saw Greg sitting on the sofa blasting his music. He had gotten taller since I last saw him. He had got his braces removed but he was still.....iffy looking. Not ugly but not hot either, but meh. He saw me coming down the stairs and he turned his music down.
"Well, if it isn't Chris. How's everything going?"
"It's going pretty well. I've heard you and your mom moved out here."
"Yeperooni. I'm going to your high school also."
"Yeah I heard."
"Still just as beautiful. Remember we kissed in my mom's garden when we were 6?"
"Oh my god why is everyone bringing that up?"
"Because it was a special moment. Our very first kiss."
"I guess."
Greg then cut on the television and scrolled through until he found Family Guy. Family Guy is one of my favorite shows. We watched and laughed together at all the cutaway gags and the crazy antics. I actually had fun with him. Then at 6:00, my mom bought down pizza, buffalo wings, and some Coca-Cola.
"You kids hungry?"
"Oh yes, Mrs. Lorraine! What kind is it?"
"Turkey sausage with mushrooms. From Italiano's"
"Thanks, mom."
"You're welcome. Now after this, Chris get ready for school tomorrow. You have a big day! You have to show Greg around the school."
"Okie dokie."
Oh damn. I knew this was coming. How do I tell her what had happened? I can't show him around if I'm suspended and can't go to school. I mean I'm going to have to tell Greg eventually. But I didn't want to, so took a slice of pizza and had eaten it. Anything to stop me from talking. I had pizza sauce on my mouth and Greg smiled and swallowed his pizza.
"Even with a pizza sauce all over your mouth, you're beautiful."
"Thanks, Greg."
"I'm excited to go to school with you."
"Listen, Greg I can't go to school tomorrow."
"I got suspended. 5 days."
"Whaaaat? The innocent little pretty Christina."
"Yes but don't tell my mom or your mom. Try to keep it a secret. Pretend I went to school with you tomorrow."
"I'll do it under one condition."
"What do you want me to do?"
"Let me hug you."
"Sure whatever."
