"What did I tell you?"
"She's definitely a Potter, that's for sure."
It was a week after, and I was in the common room, trying to do my potions essay while my idiot cousin and his even stupider friends were talking to me. I had just told them about my detention and my accidental spillage of an enlargement potion on Slughorn's foot.
"You should come to our lessons Ellis," said Sirius, flicking his hair. "That potions lesson was just a walk in the park compared to ours. James and I once stuffed a Slytherin's head in a cauldron full of boily brew. You should have seen his face, covered with red boils for a week or so before they could cook up the antidote."
I rolled up the parchment, knowing it was useless to continue working until the Marauder's had gone. "Which slytherin?"
"Snivellus, who else?"
"Who?"
"You haven't heard of Snivellus Snape?" scoffed Sirius. I shook my head and he jumped onto the sofa beside me. "He's a greasy haired, snotty faced-"
"The most unpopular person in the school," said James, glancing at Sirius and sitting between us. "He's in our year."
"Oh. Why do you guys hate him so much?"
James frowned. "Who says we hate him?"
"Oh come on Prongs, who says we don't hate him?"
I frowned. "But why?"
Sirius put his arm around my shoulders. I shrugged it off and he grinned. "Some things go without being said."
