Chaptr 2

Lisa POV

"I'm leaving", I yell to Traci.

"Do you think I care Lisa? You are 34 you know!".

"33 actually!" I corrected as I ran out the door.

I don't remember much of shane other than he was sweet and had real nice friends.

I just want to let him know what actually happened last night.

I got in my car and started to drive to Starbucks. There was so much traffic and snow.

I finally reached Starbucks and saw him leaning against a pole.

He was still wearing his winter jacket that he had wore the day before.

He looked better than what I had remembered though.

Shane POV

I saw this beautiful girl with blonde perfectly curled hair walk up to me.

She was wearing her white winter coat.

Man, she was perfect. I have to play it cool, I thought.

"Hey Shane!", she said with a smile.

"Hello Lisa!..... that is your name right?"

"Thats what it says on my birth certificate",she said with a giggle.

I loved her laugh.

"So lets go in. You want anything?", I said.

"I'm good".

"you sure? Its on me."

She looked up with a smile. "Thanks"

We both ended up ordering hot chocolate.

We sit down and I get a text from Drew.

'Hey Shane! Just got the note. thx.'

"So, Shane. I know we don't know each other that great but I want to tell you something"

I look up from my phone.

"Shane I'm afraid to tell you that...... your dad died last night. At the party I was just about to punch in my number to the contacts of your phone and that message popped up. I swiped it up because I did't know how to tell you with a drink in your hand."

I look back at my phone and see the unread message from mom saying, "Hey Shanley, Got some news that daddy is not doing ok and he's in the hospital" then the one under that said, "shanley..... he's gone ;(".

My phone falls to the ground and my head falls on the table.

Lisa starts to comfort me, rubbing my arms.

"Everything will be ok."

I look up at her.

" Can you do me a favor?"

"Anything Shane"

"Come with me to visit my mom to see how she's doing"

Lisa just smiled and nodded "Of course".
