Doctor's POV

She knows me! She really is my daughter! "Marama! I am so happy to finally find you!" I could feel my voice crack and the tears swelling up to the surface of my eyes. I sat on the edge of the bed an embraced her tightly. She hugged me back and I could feel her body shaking as she cried. We embraced, for what felt like minutes, and I finally pulled back to look at her face. "I can't believe it's really you. I thought I lost you forever."
"Not forever. Just long enough." She gave a smile amongst the tears and embraced me one more time. I could feel her holding on so tightly; she didn't even want to let go. She pulled back and threw her legs over the side of the bed and moved closer to me. Of all he wonders in the galaxy, seeing my daughter smile for the first time after all these years has to be one of the biggest and most amazing wonders in my long life.
"How did you escape? I watched you die right in front of me."
"The laser doesn't kill. It sends the victim to a place close to the Daleks at the current time. Because their planet was pretty close, I was sent to their planet and from there I went across the galaxy with a thousand other children and a handful of Dalek soldiers. We were all placed into labor camps and forced to work to death. I escaped and as I got far away, the place exploded. The Daleks killed every child in the place. With the exception of me."
"Wait, so when you are hit with the laser, you just transport? Do you think others are still alive or would they have killed their victims by now? All this time I could have been saving more people form the Daleks but I had no clue that they even had a chance to still be alive." Now I have so many questions. I guess she gets that from me, a curious mind.
"The Daleks can set their lasers to kill, but it all just depends. I am just so happy to finally have you back. I was so alone. I was hated and seen as a freak. What made me not remember you? Did it have to do with a regeneration or something?"
" Your guess is as good as mine. You are still dying. You have one heart working and the other is getting weak. You may die, and I just got you back." I remembered the fact that she is dying. This makes me angry. I can't lose my daughter after just finding her. Not like this.
