My mother wasn't a bad mother.

My sister wasn't selfish.

My father wasn't abusive.

What if it was my fault. Maybe I was the bad child. Maybe I was the burden and they didn't know how else to see it.

"Hurry. Go take out the trash and buy some more milk cause we're running out" my father threw the trash at me and slammed the door.

Here I was out in the cold again with my crappy clothes from last year. I was 6 going on 7.

"You're doing good sweety" I heard my mothers voice.

She would play with me and teach me some piano when I was 3.

She played a beautiful tune that would make you wanna think of everything in life.

I never seemed to get it. She tried to teach me but I'd mess up, like a baby I was and she'd always say "You're doing good sweety" with a warm smile.

Those were the days.

Everything changed.

I couldn't help but go into this little cafe. The smell reminded me of family.

I could here some music come from inside. It sounded like a acoustic guitar playing.

The bell rang as I went in. A woman with black hair a little below the shoulders. She was beautiful. She has a cool look to her, very beautiful, yet mysterious.

She was sitting on the bar with the guitar and she had the rock band look but she looked as old as my mom.

"Watcha doin here brat?" She said as she was smoking. Not a warm welcoming as I thought.

"M-my- my.... Name is.... Ku-Kusa-"

She laughed. Even her laugh was beautiful "Chill out kid. I didn't mean to bite your tongue" she smiled.

She threw her cigarette out and looked at me odly "Watcha doing here, brat? It's too early for worms like you to be here"

How she said that. It wasn't mean. But it was funny.

"My dad... He just woke me up to take the trash... What time is-"

"6:27" she looked down at her guitar with another smoke in here mouth. Her face had a glow to it.

"Wow... It's early"

"Don't worry kid. Ya want something? Hot chocolate? Beer? Vodka?"

I smiled oddly "Uhhhh..."

She laughed again "I'm kidding brat..." She covered her mouth as she laughed "You're so funny to mess with"

I laughed hesitantly "I better get going.... I..."

"Listen, ya wanna go home with that monster...." She said as she was putting something hot in a cup and turned around.

"Or you wanna stay with me and drink some of my famous hot chocolate?" She smiled.

My mother flashed in my head. I sat on one of the bar seats.

"So kid.... What was your name again?"

"Kusaki Greyven" I smiled as I tasted her hot chocolate. It was great as she said.

"Well it's nice to meet ya, worm. My name is Misuzu Uehara"

---------------

It's been several months since I met Ms. Misuzu and she got me a little job.

I didn't get paid a lot but the fact that I was with her was great.

She was really great. She was nice and talkative and can be a great mother.

"Aye! Ms. Misuzu! Marry me already!!!" One of the drinkers asked.

She looked back as she was cleaning a cup and smiled "Tell me when you're sober, Kai" she joked.

"Another over here, little Kusaki!" One of them asked. I walked with my little feet "Coming right up Mr. Shinzo"

As I was pouring the cup I can hear something. Something was coming.

"Kusaki!"

Oh no.

I can't be.

My dad.

Once again. I was the bad daughter. I should've listened.

I was smacked across the face. I flew across the room.

Everything went black but I could hear the noise. Everyone went into a brawl and started hurting him.

Everything was gone.
