"Wow." I breathe out. "This place is.. Is amazing!" I smile as I reach out to Gerard.
"Well. Its home." he smiles.
"It must be amazing to live here. With all your friends." I sigh, remembering that I have to go home soon.
"All in good time, my dear." he whispers.
"What?" I ask him, curious.
"I know. I know you are sick. I know you aren't going to last much longer." he sighs and I pull at my hair, the hair I chose over chemo.
He was right, though. I have been diagnosed with cancer for about 3 years now. I'm only getting worse. But we don't talk about it. How does he know?
"This is the land of the dead of the broken, beaten and the damned. And not to mention you and I are connected." he smiles at me.
"Connected?" I ask him.
"That's for a different day." he looks back at the giant float that appeared in front of us from around the corner.
"But for now. It's just my brothers and i in the black parade. And if you don't mind I have to go get into the float. Wait for me here, and watch the show." he smiles and winks before running off.
The day I love here can't come soon enough.
