He doesn't deserve this life!
{Midnight}
It was twelve o'clock on the dot. My parents were asleep and my curiosity was circling around my head. I was laying down in bed staring up at the ceiling, watching the blades of the ceiling fan spin at a insane speed.
"Was the giant really real?" I whispered to the ceiling fan. "There is no such thing as a nine-foot giant is there?" I chuckled to myself for talking to an inanimate object. Guess the only way to find out about this giant, go exploring in the woods right? Yep, I'm just that curious. Kind of like those guys and gals in those horror movies when they love to explore some vacant area. Then sooner or later deaths start occurring.
After getting myself ready and grabbing a flashlight to guide me through the night, I was already outside heading towards the woods that supposedly shelters a giant. The woods had this cool little pathway, I assume that this is where you walk in to take in the scenery. I wasn't here for the scenery, though, I couldn't enjoy it anyway, way to dark. If this supposedly freakishly huge giant live in this vicinity surely he could have destroyed the house with relative ease.
I would be lying if I said I was absolutely fearless, I'm more worried about the possible animals that might attack me. With my heart banging against my sternum, I started walking towards my impending doom, flashing the light in random spots to make sure nothing pops up.
This really kind of reminds me of that slender man game I played once in a dark room a month back, with the sound full blast. The objective: Find eight notes before slender man finds you. It didn't help that the flashlight had short battery life and the guy or girl you played as had absolutely no endurance. So there I was, walking through the woods looking for the notes so I can get out the there. I found maybe around seven before I felt as I was being followed. I went to the bathroom, going fast as I could possibly go. I found the note, but that's not the only thing found in there. I screamed so loud and ran out the room to my parents and slept with them for a week straight. So embarrassing! Being fifteen years old and sleeping with your parents, since then I have never... Played that game again...
As I made it into the dark chamber of trees. I flashed more behind me than in front, bobcats you know? Little suckers like to pounce on your back. Advancing forward, I noticed that these trees were really weird looking. In really high spots, their bark was stripped off.
Seeing how high these spots are, I think an elephant may have gotten loose or something. I mean it's pretty logical. Barks of trees stripped off, cars flipped over, being over nine feet tall. Oh, wait... Two legs not four. Still, I believe these reports have been false, people create myths all the time for crying out loud!
Bigfoot, UFOs, Yeti, Slender man, The Rake, even people are starting to believe in the vampire again.
I'm sure what these people claim to see, was a lie! No such thing as a giant! A giant over nine feet at least so by far this was the stupidest myth I have ever heard of. I kept walking around, somewhat enjoying the night sky. A few deer ran in front of me, saw the eyes of owls, rabbits hopping around. It is amazing how nature can be so active at nig-
I was cut off by a sudden, a loud bellow that echoed through the forest, a bellow that definitely didn't belong to any I know of to be exact. The action made me drop my flashlight and cover my ears. At full effort of covering my ears, the bellow still penetrated through. The ground beneath me began to shake, I turned around and saw a stampede of deer heading towards me. I jumped to the side and hide by a tree as I watched them pass by.
Soon all the deer have passed by me, I stepped back out into the pathway and looked for the flashlight. Stupid thing went off when I dropped it.
"Where are you? Stupid flashlight." Grumbling to myself.
I finally grabbed ahold of the hard metal. Knowing it was the flashlight, "bingo." I said to myself.
Sitting on my knees, I tried to get it to come on, "come on..." I just had to drop the flashlight didn't I? And those deer probably stepped on it when they stampeded by.
As I hurried to get my only source of luminescent back on. The feeling of eyes seeing into my soul made me shake. After hearing that roat, I wanted to get out of there quick as possible.
This wasn't a myth or a story you tell around the campfire, there was a real life giant roaming these woods. He's the-the one who was eating bark of the trees, tipping the cars, and killing animals.... This is the real deal... I might be next if I don't hurry out of here soon.
The flashlight finally came back on, "eureka!" I said silently. I stood up and turned around only to bump into something meaty and thick, also revolting I might add. Last time I checked trees didn't smell this bad.
Wait.... Oh my God....
I shined the light at the object, seeing that it was a leg. A big leg, I then flashed it to the left, seeing a giant fist clenched tightly. Swallowing a big gulp, I flashed the light upwards, seeing a bulky figure. Just kept on going up till I met the face of a man. The tall man's eyes looked down at me with such hate.
Without hesitation, he lifted his giant left fist and swung at me. I ducked the blow and ran around him.
Good grief is he big! I lost my place of where to go. I was just running in a random direction through the trees trying to get away from him.
I could hear the footsteps trail behind and fast too. Despite his size, he was fast, faster than I expected him to be. How is he keeping up with me?! His joints are supposed to snap!
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I yelled. He was still after me. He could have caught to me if he wanted but I believe the trees were so close to each other, he had to ease his way through.
I tripped over but instantly got up and kept on running. He was still after me, his footsteps stomped after me. The ground trembling as if an elephant was after me. I have never had that experience before but I know if an elephant did chase me. The ground beneath my feet would tremble or more possibly shake. Like a small earthquake that won't stop following until you are long dead.
"I'M SORRY!" This giant was crazy! He's after me like I was dragging a piece of steak behind me! Somebody help me!
Running still, a bright light made me stop, the giant stopped too, I knew this because the ground no longer trembled. I turned around to see he was staring at the direction of the lights, he glanced at me and growled before running away. That height was way more than nine feet... He looked to be above ten feet.
"THOMAS!" A familiar voiced called out to me. "THOMAS I'M COMING FOR YOU!" I knew that voice, it was my dad's voice. He must have heard me screaming and yelling. I ran towards the voice, letting out a sigh of relief knowing I was safe.
I saw my dad standing by the car carrying a gun as I ran out. "Dad!" I called to him. "Please don't shoot!" My dad ran to me and pulled me into a tight embrace. "Thomas! What the hell were you doing out here?! All I heard was you yelling! Like you were being chased by someone!"
"I was dad! By a freaking.... Giant!" He let out a sigh and threw his gun on top of the roof of the car. "Damn it, Thomas! I told you to stay away from the woods! Good God Thomas! Now you know it's real! Let's just hope he or she doesn't attack us."
He told me to go in the house while he parked the car.
Though completely traumatized, I have to say it was amazing seeing a real life giant. My curiosity grew, showing that I wasn't a threat, maybe I could show him that I'm friendly.
This is going to be fun, it will be the daytime next time I go and he's big as life. How hard could it be?
