Chapter Five

Chapter 5: Bets and Feelings

'Levi wants to spare with me?' I thought to myself as I stared blankly at him. His expression showed his strong determination to beat me.

"Okay I'll do it, but let's make this more interesting? Okay Levyyy.." I taunted him with a playful smirk. He returned the smirk with annoyed glare by his new nickname.

"What are you talking about, brat?" He growled.

"All I'm saying is that we should hold a bet on who wins." I explained. Levi thought about what I had said carefully. 'Well knowing him he'll will just call me a brat and call my idea stup...' My thoughts were rudely interrupted by the shorty.

"Alright brat, I accept. If I win you have to stop calling me that stupid name and you have to do what ever I say for one month." He smirked evilly towards me.

'At least I got the 'brat' part right..' I thought to myself as my eye twitches in annoyance. I heard the other solders whispering to each other as they over heard our conversation. I let out a rather loud sigh as I shifted into a fighting stance.

"Alright Levvvyy. If I win I can call you whatever I want and I get to share a room with Hanji from now on." Announcing my side of the bet. Levi got into his fight stance as he reached behind himself to only slowly pull out a real knife.

"Let's make this interning then." Levi spoke as he flipped the knife around in his hand to show off.

"Ladies first." I teased as I waited for him to make the first move. I could still hear the others whispering from behind me as I carefully watched Levi. He grunted at my statement but soon strikes forward towards me with his knife ready. I closed my eyes to focus on the wind, I could feel his movements.

I quickly opened my new golden eyes as he was about to reach me. I stepped to the side missing Levi as he strikes down into the empty space I was previously occupying. Levi again swings the knife across towards me, but I quickly crouch down to avoid the knife but I was soon knocked down as he kicked me in the chest.

I tried to quickly get myself into my feet but Levi tackled me to the ground. I wiggled under him as he tried to get me pinned, he was sitting on my lower abdomen. A weird feeling built up where he was sitting, causing me to blush heavily but I quickly shook my head.

'I can't get distracted now' I thought angrily as I used the flow of the wind to give me enough to strength so I could mange to flip him off of me, sending him flying a few feet away. He quickly got onto his feet as I did, looking at me surprised and shocked. He noticed my eyes and frowned.

He quickly came towards me again, I crouched down quickly to reach into my right boot. Once he was close enough I pulled out another knife and swung at him but he caught my arm while I caught his. We glared at each other, as we try to gain the upper hand over the other. Sudden Levi pulls me forward and slammed his knee into my chest. I grunted in pain but didn't give up, As I tighten my grip on his wrist.

He continued to thrust his knee into my torso until I finally released my grip. His knife came down as cut into my cheek deeply, I hissed in pain but I threw a strong punch towards his face, hitting him in the eye. He stumbled back from the force but soon was stumbling back further as I threw another punch at him, hitting him in the cheek causing his lip to spilt.

I coiled my arm back for another blow when his fist collided into my face knocking me back into a wall. I slightly panicked as he lunged towards me, I tried raised my knife but I managed to only slightly cut his shoulder.

Once again I was pinned by him but this time the knife was to my throat. We were both panting heavily as we stared into each others eyes. My eyes slowly faded back to their normal (e/c). Levi slowly leaned forward and whispered into my ear.

"I win." He growled softly, sending shivers down my spine from his deep voice. My heart started to beat even faster as he pulled away, taking away his warmth. 'I wish he could have pinned me do.... WAIT WHAT?! No. Bad (y/n).' I mentally slapped myself as my cheeks begin to burn from my thoughts. Hanji rushed up towards me to inspect my injuries.

"Oh my (y/n), are you alright?!" She shouted as she runs around me.

" I should have beaten him.." I cursed to myself as I glanced down at the bloody knife in my hand.

"What are you talking about? You did more damage to the little shorty, now let's go fix you up... Again." She laughs at the end as she starts dragging me away.

"Oi brat, what is your name?" Levi called out to us, I turned to see him being bothered by Petra as she was trying to inspect his wounds.

"(L/n), (F/n) (L/n)." I spoke coldly, noticing Petra was glaring at me.

"Train harder, I'm looking forward for the fight." He smirked at me as I continued to stare at him. 

" Yes sir." I said mockingly as I did a goofy salute before walking back to the building with Hanji.

~Time skip~

"Fuck Hanji" I shouted slightly as she was stitching up my cheek.

"Damn that shorty for taking things to far, oh and one more stitch." She said.

She finally was done and pulled away from me to reach some bandages that were on a table. I looked down at the bandages around my chest and sighed. Suddenly the door opened from across the room to revel the shorty.

"Hanji I need some bandages for my..." Levi stopped in mid sentence as he noticed I was sitting on the bed with out a shirt on, I quickly pull up the sheet on the bed to cover myself. His cheeks started to turn red as he stood there frozen to his spot.

" Levi get out! I'll deal with you later!" Hanji screamed as she rushed over the Levi and pushed him out of the room, causing the shorty to yell at her to stop touching her. Hanji soon came back to the room and walked over to me, picking up a bandage to cover my stitches.

"Hanji? Do you think he saw the..." I stopped in mid sentence as she place the bandage on my face.

"I highly doubt it. The bandages on your chest are covering most of them." She whispered ressurantly. I nodded sadly.

"Good, I didn't want him to find out." I whispered softly looking down at my hands.

"Does someone like the corporal?" Hanji teased as she poked my other cheek. My face started to burn as I gasped at her.

"No I don't like Levi! He.. He's.." I stumbled over my words as Hanji burst out laughing.

"You don't like him... You LOVE him!" She laughed harder as she spoke.

"Hanji! I do not!" I screamed at her but she continued to laugh.

"Don't worry.. I-I think he likes y-you too." She said in between laughs. My eyes widen at her words.

'Hanji think Levi likes me...?' I thought to myself.

"Hanji I highly doubt that. We are just sparring partners." I pleaded to her.

"(Y/n), Levi doesn't spar with anyone. He never had until now." Hanji said seriously. Hanji got up from her seat and started heading towards the door. "Now I have to take care of the shorty, just stay here and rest for a little while longer." Hanji smiled towards me as she left to the room, leaving me alone to my thoughts.

I placed my hand to my chest and stared at my hand. "A criminal like me can't love." I growled to myself but I couldn't stop thinking of the feeling he gave me when he whispered in my ear, the tingling sensation or when he was sitting on me, the burning sensation. My cheeks started to burn as I thought more about him. That's when I came to a shocking conclusion.

'Oh no. I think I might be falling for Levi.'
