Chapter Four: New Life.
It's been about two months since I was brought to the survey corps. In that time Hanji and I have became close to one another. Today I would finally be allowed out of this room, I was very nervous, my injuries have healed and all that was left was red angry scars from the knife and the burns.
I was sitting up in my bed, staring out the window with a slight glare. I could only imagine how people will react when they see me. I jumped with surprise as a loud bang and startled shout echoed from the door but soon sighed loudly as Hanji burst through the door with a huge smile stretching from ear to ear.
"(Y/n) today is the day! You finally join the rest of us and start your training!" She squealed with happiness as she tackled me with a hug. I chuckled softly at her excitement but soon my nervousness crawled back in mind.
" I don't know Hanji, no one will like me. I'm a criminal, and not to mention my scar. They will hate me, I know they will." I spoke sadly as I returned my gaze back to the window. Hanji pulled away and sighed, she grabbed my hands and brought me to my feet.
"No one knows that you are a criminal, only Ewrin and I know. Anyways it's time for breakfast, so lets get a move on." She smiled at me. I nodded in agreement and followed her out of the room. The hallways were surprisingly clean for such a old stone building.
Hanji brought me to two large wooden doors and pushed them open, revealing many tables with people eating their fill. Hanji marched her away over to one specific table with some people in uniform. I followed slowly behind, looking at each of them as I stared I noticed a familiar face, the same cold steel stare. My widen slightly as I realized he was the man that walked past my cell.
I felt everyone's stares started burning in my back, I glanced back to see I was right. Everyone was staring at me, I gave them a terrifying glare and they quickly turned away to return to their food. I sighed loudly as I looked down to the floor.
I heard someone cough to get me attention, I look at the source of the sound to see Hanji motioning me to sit down beside her. I walked over to my spot and slowly sat down, glancing at Hanji as she sips her water awkwardly. I looked down at my plate of food to see bread and potato soup. I picked up a spoon and started to eat my meal. The other girl at the table spoke up as a placed a spoonful of soup in my mouth.
"What's your name?" She asked softly.
I swallowed before I spoke.
"(Y/n)..." I mumbled.
"Well my name is Petra. This is Eld, that's Gunther and Oluo." She spoke as she pointed them out. She left out the guy sitting at the head of the table though.
"Oh.. The guy on the end is Levi. Or captain as we call him." She pointed to him.
'Levi? Well I guess that name suits him..' I thought to myself.
This Levi guy 'tch' and he brought a cup to his lips. I just blinked slowly before returning to my meal. Not really caring about them, I started dipping my bread into my soup to soak up the liquid of the soup.
"Disgusting..." Levi mumbled as he continued to sip the contents of cup he was holding. I looked at him with an annoyed stare, he just stared at me. I stuck my tongue at him, finishing my meal as I stood up quickly.
"Hanji lets go." I spoke seriously as I made my way to the doors.
"Hanji make sure you get that brat her uniform and that training starts in an hour." Levi called out to us. How dare he refer me as a brat, I turned and glared at him. I was about to yell at him but was pulled back by Hanji.
"Sure thing Shorty!" She shouted. I sighed loudly.
"What a prick." I spoke loud enough so he would hear me. I guess he did because he snapped his head towards me with a deathly glare.
"What did you say brat?" He asked angrily. I smirked but before I could say anything back Hanji finally dragged me away.
- Time skip -
I finally got my uniform on, and walked out of a room that I was changing in. Hanji was right outside of the room to make sure no one would walk in on me. I sighed as I got out the room.
"Does it fit alright?" Hanji asked me. I nodded slowly as we started walking down the hallways. I'm guessing we were heading to the training fields.
We finally made it to the training field and I saw everyone was practicing hand to hand combat. I chuckled to myself as I noticed how pathetic some of them looked as they try to steal the knives from each other. Hanji looks over at me with a questioning look. I shook my head and told her it was nothing.
Suddenly a shout came from behind me, I look behind to only see Levi walk up to us. "Alright idiots that's enough, since we have a new cadet here we will testing her strength. Gunther! You will be the first one to spar with her." Levi commanded.
"Yes sir!" Gunther saluted as he walk up to me with a wooden knife in his hand.
"I'll go easy on you, all you have to do is take the knife away from me, okay?" Gunther smiled kindly at me. I blinked with no emotion, not really caring. We both got into a fighting stance and waiting for him to strike.
"Ready? Go!" Levi shouted with his arms crossed over his chest. Gunther charged at me quickly, I crotched lower in my stance as I closed my eyes. I felt the wind moving from his movements, I opened my eyes to only have Gunther gasp in surprise as my golden eyes shined back at his. Once he was close enough, he swung the fake weapon at me.
I grabbed his wrist and twisted it up and around behind him, he let out a scream. I spun around behind him and kicked at the back of his knees which caused him to fall. I swipe the wooden knife from out of his hand as he was falling and grabbed onto his collar of his uniform, throwing him into the ground with using the wind to make him fall faster into the hard ground.
Once he was on the ground I quickly put the knife against his throat. He was panting heavily as I stared down at him without even breaking a sweat, my eyes slowly returned to their normal colour.
Luckily my bangs hid them from everyone else. He stared at me with fear in his eyes, I simply placed a finger to my mouth to tell him to not say anything. He nodded his head but his eyes still held fear.
"I win." I spoke seriously as I pulled away from him and made my way back to Hanji's side.
"That was amazing (Y/n)!" Hanji squealed in excitement. I thanked her and then stared at Levi.
"So. What now Levi?" I spoke to him rudely. I could see his eye twitch in irritation. He walked up to me he was about an inch taller then me and I finally got a closer look at his face. To my surprise I found he was very attractive, I had to fight a blush from forming as he was so close to me. I held my breath as he spoke.
"Your next opponent will be me.."
My eyes widen in shock from what he just said.
"What?" I asked in disbelief.
"Are you an idiot? I said I'll be your next opponent brat." He said angrily as he pitched the bridge of his nose. I blinked at him with wide eyes.
'Oh god, why me?' I thought to myself.
