I didn’t want to dress to fancy for this dinner so I was wearing a pair of dark jeans and a white shirt with a long white sweater thing over top. I walked into the dining room and was met with the sight of a life time.

There were roses on the table and candles and glasses of wine and everything imaginable that makes up a romantic dinner. Kaleb was leaning against the far chair wearing a button up black shirt with the top few buttons undone showing off his amazing muscles and pale skin.

He pulled out the chair and pushed it in after I sat down.

“Wow, I feel completely under dressed right now,” I said forcing on a blush to add to the act.

“No you look amazing; I wouldn’t care if you showed up here in a brown paper bag and a rats nest for hair. You would still be the most amazing girl I have ever met, and still the cutest too.”

“So that is all I am to you... Huh... cute?” I said before eating some of the lasagne he made.

“No you are beautiful, charming, funny, spicy, eccentric, strong, independent and everything else I am looking for in a girlfriend,” He said.

I really didn’t know what to say to that so I just kept on eating and looking down at my plate. Kaleb had just brought out the dessert and that is when I decided to bring up some of the things that Prudence mentioned earlier today.

“So I was talking to your cousin Prudence today and she said some things that caught me attention,” I said and noticed him start to squirm.

“Wh.. What type of things was she saying?” He asked sitting a little straighter in his chair.

“I don’t know some things about how you had flings after flings after flings here and something about how you haven’t been with one girl this long for a long time,” I said and that really made him edgy.

“Yeah, well for a long time I was having issues with... Ummm.... somethings and girls kinda filled a little bit of that hole but it never worked and I had trust issues and Yeah. You are the first girl that I have truly trusted in a long time, the first to make me feel again, even if I don’t like all of the feelings.” He said.

This actually broke what little of a heart that I had. Here he is trusting me, falling in love with me and I am her setting him up to tear him right back down. I kept a smile on my face as I just looked back at him.

“I have a question, and you don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to.. but.. ummm... What exactly happened to your mother?” I asked and immediately noticed his mood change. He gripped the table with so much force I thought it was going to break.“Okay Kaleb I am sorry I brought it up I didn’t mean to anger you or anything.”

“No its okay I just haven’t talked about it in a while and I don’t want to talk about it here. If your done lets go for a walk around the gardens and I will tell you there,”

We have been walking around the gardens for about fifteen minutes before he finally began to talk.

“It happened a long time ago, I think it has been about six maybe seven hundred years ago. My parents had been together for ever it seemed and I was about three hundred years old at the time. It all started when my mother got pregnant. We were all so happy that our family was going to get bigger, to bad that it wasn’t exactly all our family.”

“There were some complications with the pregnancy and when the child was born that was when it went all down hill. The child was part lycan and part my mother. My father was furious when he found this out. My mother tried to grovel and beg but I have never seen my father so hurt. The fact that the love of his life, his Queen had cheated on him with a dog.”

“My mother for the better part of fifty years was kept in isolation for her treason against the King. The child was sent away, no matter how my father felt he couldn’t hurt that kid so he just sent it away. The court had finally decided and the verdict was that my mother was to be burned on the steak for her treason. For a vampire that is when you are tied and burned to death by the sun.”

“The thing that makes me that maddest was the fact that she had the nerve to blame my father for all of this. My father did nothing but giver her what she wanted and she blamed him for her own death. It just made me so made and for the longest time I couldn’t trust anyone especially anyone with my heart. Until you came along. For the fist time I finally feel alive.”

He finished the whole story and just looked me in the eyes. I felt like crying so I did the only thing that I could think of at the time. I leaned in and I kissed him, and this just made me feel so much worse. Here I am doing something worse then that to him and he thinks that he can trust me to change it for him. To bad I am only going to make things worse.
