There Is No Time In London, Swan

Chapter 10

Killian's POV

I wake up to the annoying blare of my alarm clock. I sit up then I suddenly realize that it's my birthday today. I check my phone and see a happy bday text from Emma. Oh geez I think to myself. I open it and it says:

Happy 18th Bday to the greatest, sweetest, guy on the planet, love you XO ~ Emma

I quickly text her back:

Aw thanks babe, love you too! I will see you later today? ~ Killian

She takes maybe 2 seconds to respond:

How about now? ~ Emma

Then suddenly I hear a knock on my bedroom door. I open it then Emma giggles a little bit. I look down and realize I am just wearing my boxers. I grab my pants off the floor and put them on, I struggle a little bit so she helps me then I give her a kiss. I really am starting to hate this freaking wheelchair, I can't even put on my pants by myself without needing help.
"Happy birthday." She says with a big smile. "I have a lot planned for today so get dressed!" She leaves and I put on a shirt, then I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth then I wheel down the hall.
"Are you ready babe?" I ask putting on my shoes.
"I'm ready when you are." She responds. We head out the door and hop in her car. "I am taking you somewhere special." She says with a giant grin. Then we arrive at the school. "Why are we here?" I ask
"You'll see. Of course that's just a metaphor." She says as she puts a blindfold over my eyes.

She wheels me around for a while then she takes my blindfold off and we are in our English classroom.
"I still don't get why we are here. It's Sunday, there's no school, how did you even get in here?"
"I know a janitor." She says "And I worked it out with Mrs. Granton. Believe me, she was not easily persuaded, but she did eventually agree."
"Wow. But why are we here?" I ask, still confused.
"Because this is the exact desk you were sitting at when I met you for the first time."
"I remember that day, you were so beautiful."  I say
"I remember it too, at first I was like 'who is this guy' but then I got to know you and then you became my best friend."

After we went to the school she took me too numerous places, then we went back to her place. We sat on the couch and made out for a while then we watched a movie and talked.
"Hey, I know this is random and kind of sudden to bring up, but do you ever see a future together?" I ask
"Yes of course, I can totally see a future together. I love you, and I probably wouldn't be dating you if I didn't see a future with you." She says then gives me a quick peck on the lips.
"I almost forgot about your birthday presents!" She exclaims then rushes upstairs, she runs back down with a small box and large bag.
"Open the box first."
I take the lid off and take out the tissue paper. Inside is an assortment of brown and black strings, and also some cool stickers. Then I find a hook inside that is connected to cup thing that goes over my hand.
"The ribbons and stickers are to decorate the wheelchair considering you might be in it a while, I tried not to get anything too girly. And I remembered that you said you liked Captain Hook, so I got you your very own hook." She says
"Aw thanks, I love them." I say with a smile. Then she hands me the bag. I open it and find a black leather jacket, I turn it over and it has "Killian" Engraved on the back in red letters, and there are little flames along the border of my name.
"I thought your old one was getting a little worn." She says with a smile.
" Oh my gosh, babe you really outdid yourself wow, just wow." She smiles and presses her lips against mine.

I wake up to my alarm again, I swear, that thing is driving me nuts. I wake up a little bit then I check my phone and see an alert that says I am going to the doctors today. I hate the doctors. I grab my pants and shirt off the floor and put them on then I wheel down the hall.
"Hey mom, what time are we leaving for my doctors appointment?" I ask taking a bite of my toast.
"I am surprised you remembered, we leave after breakfast."

We drive to the doctors office and we wait for a while then finally they call me back to see the doctor.I go alone for the first part then my mom joins me.
"I am afraid that Killian's ribs have not healed as much as they should've by now. This is what we call lag recovery, It's nothing to worry about, It happens a lot, it just means it is going to take you some time to heal."
"Will I still get to go to London?" I ask
"It's highly probable that would increase many risks. At this point we can only hope that the ribs will heal quickly so you can go." Says the doctor.

That's what worries me, what if I can't go, I have been planning to go since I found out the seniors did this. I wanna go so bad, and I don't Emma to go without me, I wanna show her around and stuff. I think to myself in the car then I send her a text:

Hey can you come over in about 20 minutes? ~ Killian

She then responds with:

Yeah, I'll be there, tell me what the doctor said ~ Emma

When we get home I sit on the couch and wait for her, I watch 1 tv episode then she gets here. She sits on couch next me and I say "The doctor said I have something called lag recovery, my bones aren't healing as fast they should and I might not be able to go to London." She doesn't say anything, instead she just gives me a long hug then says "I love you, and I am going to make sure you get to go if it's the last thing I do."
