Killian's POV

"Killian." Emma said as she lifted her forehead off mine.
"Yes, Swan?"
"The only condition I have is that we have to wait." Emma said.
"What?" I asked
"I know that I should have brought it up at the start of our relationship but it just never felt like the right time, and considering we have had opportunities in the past I just kind of thought you figured it out." She held tightly to my hand.
"Love, I know. You're right, I did figure it out."
"It's just that loosening your virginity is a big thing and I just don't want to do it until I'm sure."
"Swan, really. I understand. Don't worry."
"I know it might be hard but I just didn't know how to bring it up... a lot of guys leave their girlfriends when they won't... you know." She starred at the ground with an embarrassing look.
"Emma," I said lifting her chin with my finger. "I would never leave you because of something as stupid as that." I was sincere. But I didn't know if she saw that. "It's really ok. I love you either way."
She just gave me a hug. But it felt different. It felt like she trusted me in a different way than she ever had before. After we broke the hug she said "I hate to ruin the moment, but, have you told your parents yet?"
I shuffled my hands together and looked down at my shoes. "No... I wanted to tell you first."
"Aw, sweetie. But your dad is going to kill you." There was a pause then she said "So is my dad, wow I didn't even think about that."
I grabbed her arm and said "It will be fine. I love you. I'm going to stand up to our parents."

After that I went home and I didn't say a word to my parents. We were going to do it together. That's what we had agreed on. Though it was hard to wait.

The next morning I went to school with Emma. We were gonna tell Lacey we were moving in together... and our parents... that part I was actually nervous about. At lunch we sat down across from our friend and Emma said with a nervous look "Lacey, we have something to tell you."
Lacey's face dropped. She got rather close to Emma's face and whispered "Wait, you're not..." She pointed to Emma's belly "are you?"
"What?" Emma asked, confused for a second then said "Oh gosh, no! Thank God for that!" She sighed in relief that wasn't the case "We just... we've uh, we've decided that after school ends we're gonna move in together." Emma was still holding my hand. Lacey covered her gaping mouth with her hand before a wide, smile took its place. She looked back at Emma and said "Your father is so going to kick his butt."
"Be quite!" She said to Lacey "He's already nervous enough about telling them."
"I'm just saying, you better get an ice pack ready."
"Lacey, seriously, be quiet!" Emma hissed, grabbing her arm. "Ok fine." She said rolling her eyes.
Killian shrugged and said "I'll probably be fine... but I'll admit I'm a little scared."
"It's ok baby... I'll be there too..." Emma said as she grabbed my other hand.
"Ok well we should probably get to class." Said Lacey.
"Ok, let me grab my backpack." Said Emma
"SO going to kick your butt," Lacey said, looking at me while she laughed then she frantically dashed out of the cafeteria before Emma could chase after her.

After school we headed back to my house and at this point we were just waiting in my bedroom. Waiting for Emma's parent's to arrive.
I sat on the bed and watched Emma pace my bedroom floor.
"You nervous, Swan?" I asked.
"Aren't you?"
"Well yes, but it'll be okay." I grabbed her hand and said "Hey, it will be ok." I felt pretty calm. That is until the doorbell rang. I felt a jolt of nervousness rush through my body. We walked into the living room to see our parents talking. My palms were incredibly sweaty but I didn't care, this was really important. I wheeled around the couch and my mom asked "Killian, what's wrong?"
"We, uh, we have something to tell you." a look of worry washed over their faces. All 4 of them.
"Oh, gosh, she isn't pregnant, is she?" My dad asked.
We both chuckled a little bit because we hadn't even been close to having sex. "No." I said still chuckling. They all took a deep breath which made me feel a little bit better.
"Yesterday, when we went out we went to a quite spot and we talked a little bit about our future." Said Emma This definitely caught their attention. "I have decided I am not going to college. It just seems like a waist of time and money. So I asked her to get an apartment with me." I said. "And I said yes." Emma said, finishing my thought. My fathers eyes widened. Large.
"Are you crazy?!" My dad asked. "You're not even 19 and-" Then Mr. Nolan punched me. Right in the nose.
"Dad!" Said Emma, as she grabbed my arm. "David!" Mrs. Blanchard said.
"He was asking for it." He said shaking his hand "There is NO way you are going to live with MY daughter!" Mr. Nolan looked me dead in the eye.
"Mom? Dad?" I asked trying to block the blood from leaking out of my nose.
"Look son, maybe violence wasn't the answer but Mr. Nolan's right, you guys are way to young and you've only known each other for a couple months." My dad said.
"But I love her." I said as Emma gripped my arm then Mr. Nolan punched me in the nose again.
"David!" Said Mrs. Blanchard "Quit hurting the boy, and let him talk.
"Why on earth do you think we would actually let you do this? I hate to say it, but it's just a gateway to sex." Said my mom.
"No, we're waiting." Emma said.
"You expect to sleep in the same bed and have no one to interrupt you every night with hormones racing and never have sex?" "Impossible." Said my dad.
They started talking a little more then Emma yelled "Ok!" They went back to silence. "Let me just go help him get cleaned up."

We walked into the bathroom and she helped me wipe the blood from my nose.
"I am so sorry, sweetie, I didn't think, he would actually punch you." She said as she placed a bandage on my nose.
"It's ok." I said "I can't blame him for being protective over you."
She gave me a smile then said "Ok, I'll go tell my parents to go home and I'll talk to them about it later."
"No way, Swan."
"What?"
"We're doing this. And if that means I have to endure a thousand punches from your father then so be it."
"Killian, you can't do this."
"Watch me." I wheeled away without saying another word.

I peered around the corner and heard some conversation brewing.
"There is no way-" Mr. Nolan said to his wife and my parents.
"David, you know I trust you, but let's just let them talk."

"Ok. I'm ready to talk again." I said entering the living room then Emma quickly caught up to me.
"Look I'm not perfect." I started. "I'm a teenager. I have emotions. Of course I have thought about sex. But I would never act on it unless Emma was 100% ok with it. She wants to wait. I respect that. Because her body was never the reason I fell in love with her." I paused. "And I do love her. And I might not have that much time left on the planet. I don't want to waste that time." She held me hand tighter. "You just have to believe me."
A look of shock was plastered onto their faces.
"Ok." Said Mr. Nolan. "Let us talk about it. Emma let's go home."
I didn't want to make our parents uncomfortable so I didn't kiss Emma. I just gave her a hug. Then they left.

That night I texted Emma for hours. We had no idea what they were going to say...

"They are yelling like crazy." Said Emma. I think her mom was actually leaning towards letting us go through with it.
"Yeah so are my parents. But, love, don't stress, we'll get through this." I texted back.
"I love you, I'll see you tomorrow." She said.
"I love you too." After I sent that I put away my phone for the night even though I didn't get a wink of sleep...

I peaked my head out into the hallway to hear my mother say "Well they did say they are waiting... and we know Killian wouldn't do anything unless Emma was okay with it..."
"Yeah but what happens when she changes her mind and she is okay with it... There will be no one around to stop them." My father responded. "Besides Killian not going to college is out of the question..."

Then suddenly I heard a voice behind me. Liam. "He's right. You have to go to college." He said starring at the ground.
"Why? Why is it so important that I do?" I asked.
"They're afraid..."
"Of what?"
"They're afraid you'll uh... end up like me..."
I gave him a look of sympathy. He was right. That was it. That was the reason.
"And trust me. You don't want to."
"Listen, I understand that but I really love her. Liam."
"I know. I heard your speech today... But you have to understand, they just want what's best for you."
