"What time is it?" Carla asked, still half asleep.      "Half eight" replied Nick sounding surprisingly chirpy, considering he was not a morning person. "Turkeys in the oven and veg is all done" said Nick sounding quite pleased with himself.
"Oh my gosh, why didn't you wake me up i would of helped?!"
"You looked like you needed your
beauty sleep" Nick said laughing.
"Oi, Mr" Carla said, scowling at Nick.
"Only joking, you always look beautiful to me" said Nick as he pulled Carla into him and kissed her.
"Mmm, thats more like it Nicholas" she said as she couldn't resist kissing him once more. Nick stood there staring at Carla. She really was beautiful in his eyes. Not just beautiful. She was perfect. Just everything you could ever imagine having in a women.
"What?" asked Carla , while playing with some strands of her hair and staring at him back.
"I love you" Nick said smiling at Carla.
"I love you more" Carla replied, as she grabbed his hands and held them close. "Thank you" Carla said, still gazing into his crystal blue eyes.
"What for?" asked Nick.
"Everything" Said Carla, as she let go of his hands and walked back off to the bedroom.

Carla and Nick were torn for what to do on christmas day. Michelle and Steve had invited them over for Christmas dinner and so had Gail, Kylie and David. It took about a week to finally come up with a decent plan. The plan was for for Nick and Carla to cook themselves and the McDonalds/Connors to come over for dinner and for the Platts to come over for pudding.

Nick had put on some black chinos and a blue sweater and Carla had put on some black leggings and her favourite grey top. Her hair was just down and natural, and she had just done basic make up. At about half 9 Nick made 2 coffees. They both liked their coffees the same way; white no sugar. Nick brought them over to Carla who was just lounging on the sofa. "Thanks love" Carla said as she smiled. Nick smiled back.
"What are we doing eh, sitting sbout on christmas morning?" Said Nick as Carla rested on his chest.
"I was just thinking" Carla said as she took a sip of her coffee.
"About what?"Nick asked, curiously.
"How far we've come" Carla said turning and smiling at Nick.
"You're amazing, you know that" Nick said while stroking Carla's hair gently.
Nick and Carla shared about a half an hour silence. It wasn't an awkward silence or a boring one, it was just two lovers spending a bit of quiet time together. Carla felt so safe in Nicks arms, he was warm and caring who would never harm a hair on Carla's head. She lay, leaning on his warm chest enclosed in Nicks arms, while he sat there with his head buried in her hair, staring deep into the roaring fire. "Can we put a christmas film on?" Carla asked, gently lifting her head up to look at Nick.
"Why not" Nick answered smiling at Carla. Carla got up iff the sofa and walked the couple of steps to the drawer in which they kept the dvds in.
"We are not watching Elf though. The amount of times we've watched it this christmas." Said Nick as he turned his head to see Carla rummaging through the drawer. Nick got up off the sofa quietly and crept up to Carla and gave her bum a quick slap.
"Oi cheeky" Carla said while smiling. "And we are watching Elf by the way".

For most of the film Nick was asleep. Carla stayed awake for the majority of the film and Nick was often awoken by Carla laughing at the somewhat 'funny moments' in the film. Before they knew it they had both fallen asleep.

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep. The oven buzzer was going off. Nick quickly woke up and got up so fast it almost made him a bit wobbly. Carla was still sleeping like a baby. She was a very deep sleeper, to say the least and she could sleep in even the most uncomfortable places.
"Turkeys ready" Nick said as he put on some oven gloves and lifted it out of the oven. Carla didn't reply. He turned around to see if Carla had woken up yet. He left the turkey on the side to rest and went back to the sofa and sat down next to Carla. He gently nudged her to try and wake her up. Steve, Michelle, Johnny, Aidan, Kate and Liz were due in just over 20 minutes. "What" Carla muttered very quietly.  "You need to wake up its nearly one o'clock". Carla got up slowly and went into the bathroom to freshen up. At exactly half past one the door bell went. It was Michelle, Steve, Kate, Aidan, Johnny and Liz.

At about 6 o'clock everyone was long gone. The McDonalds/Connors had left at about half three and then The Platts had arrived at 4 and were gone by 5. Carla knew that Gail wasn't her biggest fan but she just had to bite her tongue and try look like she was enjoying herself. Carla liked the rest of them though. Bethany reminded Carla of a younger version of herself; cheeky and abit gobby at times. Sarah and Kylie were nice and easy going, David was okay, a bit weird at times but generally okay, Audrey was lovely and well for Max and Lily, they were just kids.

Nick was sat at the dining table twiddling his thumbs and Carla had just finished putting the plates into the dishwasher. Carla went over to Nick and gently sat on his lap, not wanting to hurt him even though she knew she wasn't that heavy. "What a day" Carla said as she took a deep breath. "You haven't even opened your present yet" Nick said, leaning his chin on Carla's shoulder.
"Oh yeah, how could we forget" Carla said as she quickly jumped off Nicks lap and headed over to the christmas tree. Nick closely followed. They both sat down on the floor, Carla crossed legged and Nick kneeling down.
Carla's present was wrapped in beautiful silver wrapping paper with black paisley patterning on it. Nicks present was in a box about 3ft tall. It was wrapped in red paper with little snowmen on it. Nick lifted it up, it was as light as a feather. He wondered if there was actually in there. "Classy wrapping paper", Nick said sarcastically.
"I would be careful if i was you", Carla exclaimed, smirking at Nick.
"Open yours first" Nick said. Carla started to carefully unwrap her present. "Im sorry if you don't like it, you can exchange it if you want", Nick said, starting to sound quite anxious. As Carla opened the box her whole face just lit up like the Christmas tree that was about one metre in front of her. Inside the box was a beautiful necklace decorated with small diamonds which sparkled brightly. "Oh Nick" Carla mumbled, speechless. She was taken aback by the beauty of the necklace. "I take it you like it" Nick said quietly. "Like it?!. I love it!!" Carla said as she pressed her lips against Nicks.

"Open yours now" Carla said as she buried her head into his chest, which smelt like his best cologne, the one she liked best. "Okay, okay", Nick said as he picked up the present. He started to unwrap the box and then opened it. Inside that box, was a slightly smaller box, and inside that box another slightly smaller box. Four boxes later, Nick found an envelope. He opened the envelope and found a sheet of paper. It read 'Booking confirmation'. "Where are we going?" Nick asked, looking deeply at Carla. "Right okay, I'm not 100% sure you're gonna like this", Carla said, anxiously. "Im sure I'm gonna love it babe" Nick said still looking at Carla.
"Were going to London!"
"Are you for real?"
"No, I'm joking. Of course I'm bloody serious Nick", Carla said, laughing.
"Your a gem, you know that", Nick said, while lifting Carla's chin up to face him.
"A gem in 6 inch heels mind"

Carla fell asleep lying on Nicks lap. Nick sat there stroking her perfect brown hair and her soft skin. He looked at his watch. "Blimey, 2 o'clock", Nick whispered to himself. He gently nudged Carla, to try wake her up without annoying her too much. She half awoke, but before Nick could say anything to her, she dozed off again. He slowly slid himself underneath Carla to get up off of the sofa. He softly managed to get his hands under Carla's warm body to lift her up. He hardly had to put any effort into lifting her up off the sofa. She was as light as a feather, although she had been eating more substantial meals since being with Nick. He often wondered if she actually did eat anything when she was in remorse about the Victoria Court fire, or she just drank, but Nick wasn't bothered by that anymore. He knew she was better now and even better than that, Carla knew that the fire wasn't her fault either.
As Nick slowly pushed open the door of their bedroom, Carla's emerald green eyes opened.
"Morning gorgeous" whispered Nick.
"What time is it?" asked Carla, as Nick gently lay her down on the bed.
"Just gone 2 -" before Nick could even finish his sentence he started to hear Carla's quiet snores. The thing about Carla's snoring was that it wasn't the annoying sorta type. It was calming and relaxing. Nick loved it. Nick loved her.
