Skyler Laidon POV:

I walked into AP history class and took a seat at the back of the class. I had some time left so I took out my notebook and pen and set them out on the table then put my bag on the floor and took out my phone. I went on my messages and texted my dad.

Hey dad, I was curious what are the names of the daughter and son of your friend that are coming over today?

I set the phone on the table just as the teacher walked in. He sat down at his desk and opened a big textbook. The screen oh my iPhone 6 lit up and I looked to see a reply from my dad.

Hey honey, it's Carter which is 18 and Averie which is 15. Anyway, how is your day :)?
Dad xx

I smiled down at the text and was about to type a reply when the door slammed open and none other than Blaze appeared at the entrance.

"Take a seat Mr Newton." Said the teacher without even looking up at him.

He scanned the classroom and walked over to the back where I was sat. He took out his notebook and pen after which he dumped his bag on the floor and took a seat. Straight away he started scribbling something down and not once looked at me during the process. I carried on with typing my dad the reply from the previous text.

Awh okay I like the girl's name and the guy's name seems familiar. But my day is good thanks :) first lesson is about to start so still long day ahead :( what about yours :)?

"Hey look, I'm guessing we didn't start the most positive way with my pathetic flirting attempts and attitude. I'm sorry. We're not half as bad as we all seem. Especially Logan he's a flirt but he really is nice. Can we please start over and maybe you could at least try to tolerate me?" Blaze said from beside me.

I set my phone down on the table and before I could answer the teacher spoke up.

"Right since it's the begging of term as you all know it's time for an assignment. You will be doing a project in pairs on one of the following topics:
Castles
Medicine in the medieval time
Fashion from the 1940s
Victorian times
Or the Romans.
You can pick any of the topics and you all have 3 weeks to get it done. And before you all get exited I have picked the pairs for you. The list will be up on the board and there will be no changes unless I decide to make them. This project carries out 50% going to the end of year grade. Now you will have to do this outside of lessons along with in lessons since it's a big project. The list is now up so you may move and it next to your partner. At the end of the term you will all be presenting what you have done." He finished saying at the class erupted into conversation and movement.

I looked on the list and down to my name. I was not one bit amused about who I was paired up with. And that person was no other than Blaze Newton.

"Great." I muttered to myself quiet enough for him not to hear.

My phone once again lit up and a message from my dad has shown up on the screen.

My day is not too bad thanks :) what time is your lunch break and how long is it?

I frowned at the sudden question but then typed a quick reply.

At 12:45 and it's an hour long why?

I pressed send and set my phone back down. I have noticed that Blaze was looking at me as if trying to figure something out.

"I thought we could do fashion from the 1940s and for the end of term presentation we could make like a clothing prop to show what the people would wear." He said as if to make a conversation.
