Carter Breight POV:
Flashback:

The gunshot must have been heard from the other side of town. Skyler fell to the floor and we all followed to shield ourselves from the following shots. My arm was stretched out when I felt it going damp.

"Skyler wake up!" I yelled. "Please get up!"

She passed out by the time the first firing stopped. I lifted my arm and saw the blood. I crawled over to the others and dragged them one by one to the door. Going back for Skyler I noticed that the shooting stopped but I didn't dare to get up.

End of Flashback.

It's been nine months. Nine months since Skyler has been rushed to hospital after being shot the night she came back from the race. Nine months since she's been in a Coma.

We were all outside in the waiting room. By we I mean myself, Blaze, Jess, James, Logan, Sienna, Alex and Kenny. We were all waiting for Skyler's dad to arrive as per usual. Sitting around outside her room once or twice a week was painful. Painful and tiring.

"Doctor hurry, she needs help!" A nurse yelled from Skyler's room.

We all shot up and rushed towards her.

"What's going on?" Blaze asked hysterically.

"Take a seat I'm sorry but I'm not allowed to let you in there." The nurse replied as she opened the door for the doctor.

"What do you mean we aren't allowed to come in?!" I yelled.

"That is my daughter in there and I demand to know what the hell is happening!" Mr. Lee yelled from behind the group.

We all moved away and let him to the front.

"Sir I understand however I am not allowed to let you in there." She replied.

He exhaled loudly and went to sit down. We all followed knowing that they won't let us go in there.

When I said that it was painful sitting outside her room or visiting her, I never would have thought that anything could have beaten it. At this moment, the waiting was deadly. Why didn't she wake up sooner? It was only a single shot. She shouldn't have even been in a coma.

My thoughts were interrupted after the doctor stepped out of the room. It took him a good 5-10 minutes.

"What is happening to my daughter?" Mr. Lee said as he stood up.

We all followed and walked up to the doctor.

"I'm sorry sir. Your daughter didn't make it as ..."

He continued talking but my brain shut off. I couldn't listen or focus at that point.

She's gone? After nine fucking months, she just goes? She can't... that's not what was meant to happen. That is not what it was meant to fucking be like!

I fell to my knees as my legs gave in on me. My head was in my hands and I couldn't find it in me to breath. Tears were rolling down my face and my body was shaking.

We were meant to move away together. Far away. She wasn't meant to be shot. She wasn't meant to go in a coma. She wasn't meant to end up like this. She was meant to live...

Guys this is not the end!

I started writing the second book and please go and read that if you want to see what happened next! It's called 'A Stab To The Heart'

This is however the last chapter of this book and I would like to thank for being here and supporting my creation all along :)

I know that this book isn't the best, and that this chapter especially is stupidly short but I am really trying to improve in my second book :) So please feel free to vote and comment and read my second book :)
