"Cassandra, how are you feeling?" Mrs. Rush asked at the dinner table."Uh, alright I guess," Winter answered looking down the plate in front of her.
"Do you not like ham and funeral potatoes?" Mr. Rush asked as Winter refused to pick up her fork.
"Uh no. I actually love this meal." Winter didn't know what to say. How could she say that her host had an eating disorder and that she is the representation of it? A binge starve disorder and that right now Winter was in the starve phase?
"That's what I thought. Eat up. Elaine should be here momentarily," Mr. Rush said before he took a bite of his potatoes. Elaine was Everett's younger sister.
"Okay." Winter took a small bite of the food before her. "Screw the starve thing," she whispered quietly enough that only Everett heard. She took a large scoop of potatoes and stuffed it in her mouth. "Mmm thanks for the food."
"No problem, Cassandra." Mrs. Rush smiled sweetly.
"You want a roll Win-er Cas?" Everett asked while reaching for the bowl of rolls. Winter nodded so he puts one on both of their plates.
"Thank you, Ev."
"You're welcome."
"Slow down you pig. I mean come on. You? Eat that much. Gross. You are so gross."
"Shut up, Cheyanne." Winter crossed her arms over her chest. She felt guilty about the food that she was consuming. "Go back to your own cave."
"Maybe I will. This one is so ugly and lame. It's because it's yours."
"You are so cruel."
"Well, I am judgement but hey, I'm not as bad as Clair when she's awake." Cheyanne leaned forward and flicked Winter on the forehead. "I mean that girl is a real bitch to everyone especially your brother when she's awake."
"I know. I don't like Clair."
"No one does. Not even me. I mean, she's this bottle of rage that explodes every now and then. She needs to get better control of herself. Maybe if she was always awake we wouldn't be having these problems but nooooo she has this sleep mode. I blame Cas. I mean if she just thought up Clair in a better way we wouldn't be having this problem. Of course we would also not be having this problem if Cas was DID free. I blame her grandma for that. Stupid old lady had to pass the gene down to her granddaughter."
"Ugh. Can you just get out of here?" Winter glared at Cheyanne.
"No. You bitch. You little stupid bitch. You should just kill yourself."
"I'm trying but it takes a long time to starve yourself."
"And you don't have the will and binge eat."
"Shut up, Cheyanne."
"No."
"Fine, I'll leave my own cave." Winter pushed herself off the ground. She flipped Cheyanne off before exiting the cave into the thick snowy area of the mountains. Cheyanne and Clair were the only alters that Winter was rude to. They mistreated her brother and the other alters. Cheyanne wasn't even allowed to be near Marigold cause she would insult the child until the little passive girl killed herself.
Winter walked through the snow that came up to her knees until she was at her brother's cave. The place was such a sorry sight that she braced herself before walking in.
Zador laid on the floor staring up at the ceiling. He mumbled to himself such awful things.
"You are bad. You are ugly. You are the worst. Zador I hate you. I hate you. Hurt. Bleed. Be sorry. Be sorry. You need to rot in hell for your sins."
