You're flipping through a paper back Carm recommended when Danny comes home. You don't look up from the book as you say "hey" silently and continue to read. "Hi, hon." She kneels down and kisses you on the cheek, you shift away unknowingly and Dan gives you a look. "How was work?" You ask, still only focused on the book. "Oh ya know, same old- wait actually SJ ran into Natalie today." "Oh, what happened there?" "It was super awkward," she begins to take off her coat and put down her things, "it was almost like me and Wil." Still not seeming interested in the conversation, you calmly say "Kirsch." She nods really fast, "yeah, yeah, right Kirsch." She sits down beside where you're curled up on the couch and stares at you. "Need something, Dan?" "How about some attention?" You roll your eyes and slam the book. "Now what?" You ask harshly. "Maybe a little conversation." "Did we not just have a conversation?" She takes a deep breath and presses on. "Laur, you were hardly paying attention." "Who are you to tell me how much attention I'm paying?!" "Could you stop trying to pick a fight, Laura?" "Excuse me? I am not-" the doorbell rings and you are knocked out of your thought process. What is wrong with you? Danny inhales deeply, counts to five and goes to answer the door. Her face changes to an annoyed look once again. "Great, you're here." She says sarcastically. "Buttercup in?" You'd know that raspy voice anywhere. You run over to the door and envelope her in a hug. "Guess she is." Danny storms upstairs, "CLEA!" You sigh, "She's at Kirsch's, remember?" She huffs angrily at you and goes into the bedroom. "What was that about?" "Don't worry about it." You grab your coat, interlock arms with Carm and you're out the door.

You knock on the door and patiently wait. "L!" "Laura?!" Perry and Laf bring you in for a hug. "It's been ages, sweetie." "Perry, it's been a month." You laugh out and Perry gives you a small smile. "We just missed ya, girlie." Laf says with a kind voice. You force a smile and Perry instantly senses something is wrong. "What?" You look at her and then to the ground. "Danny proposed." "Holy shit, that's awesome!" Perry swats LaF's shoulder for 'swearing'. "But why are you distraught? That's amazing, darling." You run a hand through your hair, as you love to do. Blowing out a sigh, "I don't think I'm in love with her." Perry chokes on her tea and LaF pats her back. "What do you mean you're not in love with her?! You were here with her but a month ago and you were pleased as punch!" You want to laugh at the way she says this but you see what she means. "Yeah, yeah, I know... I just... I don't know." "Why?" You look over and they are giving you this look. You can't really tell what it means, "huh?" "Well, if you're not in love with her, there has to be a reason, right? If you were in love a month ago and you're not now, there has to be a reason. So, I guess, what I'm asking... is what's your reason?" You hadn't really thought of it that way. There does have to be some reason. A thought pops into your head but you push it away. Nope, Carmilla is not the reason. "Oh no." You look over at LaF once again, you can see that they know exactly what your reasoning is even if you don't. "YOU'RE NOT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Perry looks just as confused as you are. LaF gives her a look and Perry instantly realizes. "What the fuck are you guys talking about?" You have never been more confused in your entire life. "Laura, you can't be serious. You don't even know?" You shrug. "Oh my god, well you're going to have to figure it out because I'm not going to tell you." You sigh, annoyed. Suddenly your phone rings and as soon as you hear the specific ringtone, you get excited and pick it up. "Hi Carm." LaF and Perry roll their eyes. She's talking about going to a restaurant. "Yeah, yeah sounds good. See you at 8?" You can hear her nod. "Okay, love you." She says she loves you too and you hang up. When you look back at your friends, they're giving you this look. "What?"

"Oh wow, don't you look like a virgin sacrifice?" You laugh but once you see her outfit you practically choke on it. "Oh...oh...wow." She gives you this aggravating smirk. "How come you look good in everything? You can work sexy AND lazy. It's not fair." "Come on, let's get you a new outfit." She pulls you into her house and before you know it, you're changing.~changing pov to Carm~
"Carmilla, I look weird." "Oh come on, I'm sure it's not that bad, just come out." The door to your bathroom opens and- "holy shit." Your draw practically hits the floor. "Oh god, I knew it was bad." She tries to run back in but you stop the door with your foot. "You look.... Wow... You look hot." She blushes. "I do?" You nod and hope to God that you're not drooling. "If I wasn't strictly dickly, I'd jump you myself." You mean if she wasn't with Danny. "What about Sam?" "Oh right, that was just a thing. I was horny and she thought I was hot, which doesn't happen often." She grabs your collar and whispers, "I think you're hot." You bite your lip, God, she's not just hot, she's full blown sexy. Something flashes in her eyes and she lets go and starts laughing. "I mean who doesn't think they're best friend is hot. I wish I could be you!" She grabs her purse quickly and runs out of the room. You want to scream. What are you doing? Laura is your best friend, she's going to be Danny's wife! You're the fucking maid of honor for christ's sake! You need to back the fuck off. The path you're heading down is dangerous. SO DON'T GO DOWN IT! "CARM, come on!!!!" You run out of the room and head to the car.
