Perfect Place

The two of us walked down a few hallways. We stopped at a place that he said was the music wing. We came to a door with blinds over it so you couldn't see in. I squeaked as Conner placed his hands over my eyes. He chuckled lightly at my reaction.

"You can't see can you?" I shook my head.

"No, I can't, why?"

"Just keep your eyes closed." He removed his hands, I fought my mind (which was telling me to open my eyes) and kept them closed. I heard the jingling of keys and a door open. I felt a hand grab mine, I gasped and pulled my hand away. I heard a light laugh. "Don't worry, it's safe." He grabbed my hand again and this time I let him. "I promise okay?" I nodded even though I didn't know if he could see me. He pulled me gently through the doorway. "Alright, you can open your eyes." I opened my eyes and blinked away the spots. When the spots were gone I felt my heart leap. The room I was in was huge, there were shelves with music and paintings, there was too many instruments to count, and honestly just breath taking. When creativity becomes your only escape from the world this room seems like heaven. He smiled when he saw my reaction. "You like it?" I only nodded my head still a little blown away.

I finally remembered how to talk. "This is where we can have the club at?" He nodded and I tackled him in a hug. "How do you even have a key to this room!? I mean this is amazing." He laughed loudly clearly amused with my reaction.

"I have it from when I was in play that and-" He cut himself off shaking his head. "Nevermind, but we can use the room." I raised my eyebrows at his secrecy but I left it alone like he did for me. "Well I'll quit play and-" I cut him off quickly.

"You what!?" He laughed at me.

"Relax, my mom will talk to the play director, they can always find someone else to play Oliver." I went to say something but he stopped me. "It's fine, you don't need to worry. Besides look at all the stuff we'll be able to use." I looked around the room and he was right. We had everything, we had 2 pianos, a keyboard, cellos, violins, violas, flutes, clarinets, and instruments I couldn't even remember the names of. "We can always get the writing and drawing equipment tonight, I mean it still needs a little bit of work, but we could do it." I hugged him tightly and he gently wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Thank you, seriously."

He nodded, "Yeah, of course." He pulled out his phone and I was shocked to see it wasn't a I-phone 6, it was just a simple flip phone. He must've noticed my reaction because he started to explain. "Oh, this, I don't really use phones often, I talk to Izzy, Carmen and a couple others, that's about it." I nodded.

"Yeah, I get it. What time is it"

He glanced at the phone again and chuckled. "It's 5:30 we need to head back to club." I nodded and walked over to the glossy black piano. "You gonna tickle the ebony and ivory?" I shrugged and lifted up the fall board, a perfect looking piano. I looked up at him with a smile on my face.

"I don't know, depends on if the piano sounds as perfect as it looks." He laughed and sat down on the bench next to me. I played a random note before playing the first song that came to mind.

The intro to The New Divide by Linkin Park flowed out of the piano. "I remembered black skies, the lightening all around me. I remembered each flash as time began to blur. Like a startling sign, that fate had finally found me. And your voice was all I heard, that I get what I deserve."

We began singing the chorus together, I fought a giggle as we sang. Singing the rest of the song I hit the ending note and smiled. I looked at Conner excited.

"Dude, if we could pull off some Glee shit, that would be fun." He laughed loudly while shaking his head at me, giving his hair a cute messy look.
