Found Her Next Door

Chapter 6

When Ryan made his way back stairs he looked out the window to see her climb up in Luke's jeep. His head dropped and he shook his head but when he turned around he became wide eyed as both Carrie's and his parents were watching him from the back porch. They called him over and told him to take a seat. He came clean, he told them how he loved Carrie and he knows he is young but he's know her for 6 years , it's different with her.

"Ryan you don't think we don't know! Sweetie we've known since the 2nd grade, we had a little wager on when you would actually truly know and that was the 5th grade. When you went and beat up those boys making fun of Carrie." Kel and Tessa said to Ryan.

"Boy, you're going into high school. 16 years old, I think you're smart enough. You've had 4 girlfriends and none of them work. Because you know who you love and that's okay." Jim told his son.

"Shoot, I like you a lot better than Luke he won't even come fishing with me! My baby girl will realize soon that you two are meant to be just wait on it. I mean geez I sound like crazy daddy basically being okay with my girl being loved." Jim said reassuring Ryan that it'll be okay.

Later that night Scott came over before the girls did. And Ryan told Scott about what happened and that he told his secret to his parents and Carrie's.

"Dude that's big. I'm real sorry you have to watch her go through this thing with Luke. You're always her shoulder to cry on every time Luke destroys her heart. You pick up the pieces; maybe you need to tell her." Scott concernedly told Ryan.

"I can't, if she loves me too then it will fall into place how it needs to be. I'll always be there to pick up the pieces and put her heart back together. Nothing will change the fact that we are best friends. I promised in the 2nd grade that I would protect her." Ryan sternly proclaimed.

"Awe! Ryan that is so sweet!! Oh my goodness I've never heard anything that's made my heart melt." Rae peeped as she appeared from the staircase.

"Dang'it Rae! You can't tell Carrie or else I'll tell her that you and Scott are secretly dating!" Ryan fired back at her.

"I won't! I won't! And I'll tell her soon but tonight is movie night it's a FRIEND night." Rae affirmed.

"Knock, Knock y'all ready to watch Toy Story!" Carrie's sweet voice filled the room as she walked up the staircase.

However there was an extra pair of footsteps following her and it was Luke. Rae, Scott, and Rae all shoot a look to each other confused and kind of angry.

"I hope y'all don't mind Luke really wanted to watch the movie too." Carrie said hoping her friends wouldn't be to upset.

"Well... it's called friends night not schmuck who won't even bother to ...." Scott began to say as Rae cut hi m off

"Of course Carrie, your happiness is very important to us." Rae said with a irritated look flashed to the boys.

They started the movie as the all sat in their bean bag chairs, Luke was sitting right next to Carrie; Rae other side of Carrie, Ryan next to her and Scott next to him. Ryan peeked over to see Luke whispering in Carrie's ear and her showing a soft yet shy smile. Ryan peered at them until Carrie turned her head back towards the movie. Luke then began to move his hand onto Carrie's thigh when Rae noticed a very uncomfortable look. She asked Carrie to help her make more popcorn. They walked downstairs and into the kitchen.

"Carrie what was that. You don't look okay with that. That's not you." Rae questioned her.

"Okay Rae, no he keeps trying pressure me and today in the jeep before we walked in here he kissed me. And you know we started kissing but then he started to put his hand up my shirt. I swatted him away and he kept trying. Then he grabbed my wrist and told me I could trust him. I yelled at him and tried to get out but he locked the jeep. He pulled his seat back and pulled me on top. I unlocked the door and jumped out. I told him I don't like that and he got angry. We sat on the ground for a minute than he kissed me and said fine I just have a buzzkill girlfriend. But I like you so whatever. He helped me up then grabbed my butt. I turned around to say something but he looked away. I didn't know what to say, and then I didn't want to cause a scene up there. I guess that's what I get for having a boyfriend two years older than me..." Carrie almost crying explained to Rae.

"Carrie we don't care if you cause a scene, but no that's not what you get. He should be respectful enough to respect you. Don't let him pressure you okay?" Rae embracing Carrie in a hug reassured her.

They walked back upstairs with more popcorn to finish the movie. Carrie kept Luke's hand locked in hers so he couldn't' pull a stunt like that. Ryan knew something was going on but he tried not to interfere with that relationship. Luke didn't like Ryan but Carrie refused to stop being best friends with Ryan. The movie ended and Luke stood up and gave his hand to Carrie to help her up.

"Come on babe let's get out of here" Luke aggressively spoke.

"I'll walk you out but our friend's night isn't over." Carrie stood her ground and said back.

"Whatever I'll see you Monday at school then..." Luke pissed off said and rolled his eyes and walked away.

The four of them went down and made their famous kitchen sink sundae and shared lots of laughs. Carrie with a bright smile that hasn't been seen in awhile awed the others.

"That's one pretty smile I haven't seen a long time Carrie." Ryan and Scott both said.

Carrie just looked down but then continued on with their night. The girls ended up falling asleep so Ryan and Scott carried them back to Carrie's house. Scott set Rae down and the left side of Carrie's bed he kissed her head then put a blanket over. Ryan laid Carrie down on the right side and put her favorite blanket over her. He looked at her, brushed her hair with his hand let out a soft smile then watched back towards the door.
