Evanya's P.O.V

I had not in my wildest dreams anticipated that my first ever live interaction with Cameron was going to be like this. I scanned my outfit and my cheeks turned red due to awkwardness of the situation. I wanted to look my best on our first ever physical meeting, and saying that means a lot especially when I am hardly ever concerned about my appearance or looks.

I was dressed in loose trousers with a black t-shirt on top of which  was wearing a pink coloured apron on which it was written Aarna's. My hair was pulled into a messy bun and loose strands were falling all over my face. Little bits of flour were also stuck on my face and to top it all I was wearing my nerdy glasses. Melanie would never dress in something as horrendous as this when she goes to meet Cameron But Evanya surely would. Here, he was looking at Evanya not melanie, even though both are the same mentally.

In total I resembled someone who just woke up from their sleep. I turned even redder in the face, which I think is unachievable because I was already looking like a tomato.

He on the other hand looked like he just stepped out from some magazine cover. He was dressed in casual clothes. Right now, he was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt with black skinny jeans and His blond hair were a little more messed up than usual. Nothing special, but in my eyes he just rocked the look.

He scanned my outfit but didn't give me any of his disapproving looks instead he grinned and laughed, genuinely and didn't give me one of his accustomed smirk. I was so lost in his laugh that I failed to notice that I had also started laughing at myself and people around us were giving us strange looks. After a minute I snapped back to reality and controlled my heavy breathing.

After controlling himself also, He said “Can I have a tissue paper; my friend Jackson over there spilled his drink on me?” pointing towards someone on the table where my sister sat with her clique.

I whispered a “Sure” and went to bring the paper Napkin. After handing him the tissue paper, He wiped of his shirt and made eye contact with me but made no movement to leave. It was like he was choosing the right words to say something. After some seconds he said “You know you are different.”

Confused by his words I asked “A good different or a bad different?”

“A good different, a very good one indeed”

“Thanks….I guess. But how exactly am I different?”

He pondered on his words a bit before answering “Any girl in the world, would never laugh at herself for looking non-presentable, But you just joined me when I was laughing at you, which was very rude on my part.”

His compliment brought a smile on my face and my cheeks turned a light shade of pink.  I murmured “Thanks” before tearing my gaze away from his green orbs, which had caged my eyes, preventing it to look anywhere else. They were just beautiful, nothing more, nothing less just beautiful. They were so clear that I could see all sort of emotions swimming in them, but I also saw loneliness. I wonder why? Even though outside I was smiling, inside I was a bunch of nerves. Why wouldn’t I be? I was talking to the Cameron grey for god's sake, any girl with hormones would have surely fainted by now. I mentally patted myself on the back, for not losing control and doing any such thing.

Before, I was going to the kitchen, I heard my name being called in that smooth, silky voice which belonged to none other than Cameron himself. “Hey! Diner girl”

I turned to face him, to know what he wanted to say. “Sorry, for calling you that, But I didn't know your name…So yeah! What is your name by the way?”

I stared at him like He had grown two heads, He didn't know about me. I mean, Yeah he was acting nice and all, but he didn't know the A-class nerd Evanya Roberts, How was that even possible? It was not like I was popular and all, at least not a good popular but practically everyone in the school is used to making fun, whether it is a junior or a senior. But how does he not know about me?

I said “ You seriously don't know, or are you just trying to act nice and all?

“I don't know your name seriously, although I have seen you in my English class but I never bothered to catch your name”

“Oh! I am Evanya” but you know me as Melanie also, I silently added in my brain.

“ I am Cameron, Cameron Grey”

“ Everybody surely knows about the THE CAMERON GREY” I smiled and answered. I kicked myself for calling him The Cameron Grey here also, mentally. At this his smile faltered a bit, anyone who wasn't paying much attention must have not noticed but I surely did but he quickly covered it and said:

“It was nice talking to you Evanya, See you in English. Bye”

“Bye”. I told back.

I now had a full blown grin on my face because of two reasons. First,  because he did not judge me as ‘the diner girl’. Second, because I just talked to The Cameron Grey without much embarrassing myself.

Today, was surely a memorable day.
