Cameron's P.O.V

I was sitting in the locker room impatiently waiting for the football practice to begin. The coach had gone out of school due to some important stuff, which resulted in the delay of the practice by a few hours. Jackson, my best buddy was busy talking to his girlfriend Ashley while all others were either busy on their phones or talking about Samantha's party which was round the corner this weekend, to which I had to go because of my stupid social status.

I know, you must expect me to be 'the typical high school jock' , as I am the football team captain, but I am definitely not. I am not one of those jerks, who attend every single high school party in town, get drunk and end up sleeping with a different girl every time.

To sum it all up, I am more on the shy side, but this is something that anyone hardly knows. Everyone takes me to be the typical playboy, which is very much expected from the most popular and handsomest guy in the school. I hate these kind of parties where people get go and dance and drink to the level where they are not able to stand on their own two feet.

Anyways, back to the topic. I had absolutely nothing to do right now. To sum it up all you could say that I was  bored out of my mind.

Suddenly, an idea popped up in my mind. I thought of texting the girl whom I talked to yesterday via E-mail. I know it was a lame move, texting someone I hardly know, but at that time, all these rational thoughts didn't matter. I was ready to do anything to cheer myself up, even if it meant talking to some unknown.

Me: Hey! Watcha doing?? ;)

I didn't even got to know her name yesterday, and asked her to be friends. How smart of me. Note the sarcasm. I mentally slapped myself and made a mental note to ask her this time, if she replies back.

When I called her babe and was tried to flirt with her she became really angry and snapped at me, which was kind of an abnormal reaction from a girl. I guess that's what  made her different. I don’t even know what intrigued me into asking her to be my friend. Normally, I wouldn’t even care what other people think about me, but with her, it was a little bit different.

I waited for her reply, really hoping she would answer me. I had never been so impatient ever in my life. I was 99 percent expecting her to ignore my message, and to continue with whatever she was doing.

After about what seemed like hours, but in reality were only 5 minutes her reply came.

Her: NM….just heading home…And you?{A/N NM-nothing much}

I did a happy dance in my mind. I was really happy that she replied to my message, because now I also had someone to talk to right that moment.

Me: Same….Just waiting for the soccer practice to begin ;)

Her: So you play Soccer! ...Cool….

Btw…I never caught your name.{A/N Btw- by the way}

I did a mental debate in my mind whether to tell her my name or not. I was very popular in this school so she must have surely heard about me and would think about me the same way other people do. To them, I am a heartless player which was really far from the truth. After about a minute of debating I finally came to the conclusion that I should tell her. I mean, what could be the worst that could happen. And, also it will help me to know whether she judges people from what she has heard about them from others or believes in giving those rumours that people spread a onceover.

Evanya's P.O.V

‘sexyheartthrob1995@gmail.com messaged you’

After, reading the sentence multiple times, I came to the conclusion I wasn't seeing things and he had actually messaged me.

Him: Hey! Watcha doing?? ;)

After recovering from my so-called shock, I quickly typed back a reply.

Me: NM… just was heading home…

After pondering for about 20 seconds whether to continue the conversation myself, or leave up to him to do so. I picked up the former one

Me: What about you?

Him: Same…. Waiting for the soccer practice to begin ;)

Me: So you play Soccer! ...Cool….

Btw...I never caught your name.

I silently contemplated on the thousand what if’s about his identity.

He could be someone from our small town or what more he could be of my age and goes to my school. I feared for the latter to be true.

Him: Cameron Grey…

Even I never caught yours? ;)

Me: That's strange some popular guy in our school Laurel High also carries the same name.

Him: I am that ‘some popular guy’;)

Me: You're kidding right. I can accept you to be someone from our town, even from my school but you being The Cameron Grey is just not possible. So stop pretending and tell me who you really are?

Him: Babe, I swear I am not lying.

Me: I don't believe a word you are saying right now.

P.S- if u ever call me babe again, I will personally hunt you down, and do you such damage that you won't ever be able to call any other person ‘babe.’

Him: I m saying the truth, whether you believe it or not. And I promise to never call you babe again ‘babe’. ;)

Holy shit, till now I was talking to the Cameron Grey, the hot-shot of Laurel High. I was dumbstruck. And this guy really got balls, to call me babe even after me telling him multiple times not to.

Me: Are you sure you are The Cameron Grey?

Him: YA, why else would I pretend to be him.

Me: U mean the blond hair, green eyes one CAMERON GREY?

Him: Yes. ;)

Me: U mean the soccer team captain, CAMERON GREY?

Him: Yes, Yes, I am the only Cameron grey in Laurel High. Now, stop confirming My identity and tell me about yours.

Never, in my wildest dreams I would have thought that I Would be talking to Te Cameron grey over an E- mail where he didn't know my name. I didn't know what to do. If I told him my name, he would also make fun of me like the other jocks. So, I made up a false name and told him that, because there was no way in hell he didn't know the Evanya Roberts, the biggest nerd, the diner girl.

Me: I am Melanie black.

As an afterthought and also to keep my identity safe I added

Me: U won’t know about me as I am new in this school.

Him: It was nice talking to you Melanie. TTYL (talk to you later). Duty calls. Bye ;)

Me: Bye!!

After the conversation I exhaled a deep breath of air, which till now, I did not realize I was holding. I cannot convince myself to believe that I just had a civilised conversation with THE CAMERON GREY. I was really happy on the inside that for the first time in my life, a guy has shown interest in knowing the real me, even though as a friend. For the first time some person would not judge me as Evanya or the diner girl but will come to know about my true personality or who I really am.
