I clutched the phone in my hand and stared at the screen. I had just entered a new contact.... Dylan. I still couldn't believe it! I swallowed as I contemplated my next move. Do I text him now? Or would that be too desperate? He had in fact said to use it asap..... but... ugh! This was so frustrating!

I leaned over to get Bekah's input on this issue. She was currently attempting to learn how to play a racing game on Kyle's phone. He was coaching her, but she kept hitting buildings which made him laugh and tease her even more.

After running over yet another pedestrian, she handed Kyle back the phone. He began playing it one handed.

"What do I do? Do I text him? And more importantly what the heck am I supposed to say?!?!" I was now breathing in short gasps. Bekah put her hand on my arm and said, "Calm down, Toya. He gave you his number. He is probably waiting right now for you to text him. Just say something like hey this is Latoya the red head from earli...."Bekah cut off mid sentence. So I looked to see why. Her face was frozen and she was staring straight ahead unblinking.

when I saw the reason for her bizarre behavior I couldn't help but outright laugh. Kyle, who wasn't paying attention at all, had begun absently playing with Bekah's hair as he played his game. He had not noticed what havoc he was reeking on her emotions, so being the good cousin I am, I flicked his arm hard. He flinched and said " what was that for!?" I tilted my head in Bekah's direction and he leaned in for a look. He looked back at me confused and said, "what did I do wrong?" I laughed and replied, "you're playing with her hair... now would you please stop so she can help me with my dilemma?"

Bekah gave him a sheepish look, but he disentangled his fingers from her hair reluctantly. She took a deep breath and said, "what was I saying?" without looking up Kyle said, "she was telling you to quit being a chicken and text the guy already!" I went to punch his arm, but he pulled it back

. And Bekah with it. She crashed into his chest. As she began to right herself, he said, "ah I think I want you to stay like this." Bekah turned a shade of crimson and Coach yelled out, "Kyle David Chabe!" in a mother's tone. He grinned but helped her sit up again. "next time",he muttered.

I decided I was going to have to watch him more closely. I looked back down at the phone and felt my panic level rising. Bekah gave me an encouraging look, so I began typing out "Hey this is Latoya the red head." My finger hovered over the send button for a minute, then I pressed it and released a breath I hadn't even realized I was holding.

"There that wasn't so bad," Bekah smiled at me. My phone dinged and I looked down in surprise to see that he had already messaged back! It said "finally! I thought you were not interested in talking to me."

Who would not want to talk to you? I sent back.

Well, I will confess I was kinda nervous. I don't usually give out my number to many people, but you are .... Different.

Different cause I wear weird clothes to play volleyball?

No lol. A very good different. .. real.

I wasn't sure what to say to the last one, but It turns out I didn't have to say anything. He messaged back... "different in a good way! Ugh I'm terrible at this over texting."

I decided to be brave and just go for it.

Well you could call if that would help.

There I did it, but what would his reaction be? Would he think I was being too pushy? How are you even supposed to flirt with a celebrity anyway!?!? I began to panic and was about to ask Bekah to shoot me now when my phone began to ring......
