"Thank you so much, Mister Kíli, for teaching us how to properly use a bow and arrow." One of Kíli's students, named Hardan, went up to him after practice was over. Even though Hardan might be the youngest out of all of the dwarflings, Kíli knew it was never too early to learn how to defend yourself.
"It's not a problem, Little Master. I enjoy teaching young ones how to shoot an arrow. And may I say, you are doing an excellent job. Maybe you'll be as good as I am." He chuckled.
Harden's blue eyes lit with joy. "Oh I sure do hope I will be as good as you are, Mister Kíli!"The comment from the dwarf made Kíli smile, and really smile. "You should get going now, ya' silly goose. Don't want to keep your parents waiting, now do we?"
The Dwarf shook his head and ran out the door with one last wave.Kíli was surprised at how well training went. He expected them to be hurting others, on purpose and by accident. Or another way to put it; complete chaos. He waited for the random noises in the air to trigger his defensive yet anxious demeanor. He had this small feeling of uneasiness in him the whole time, but he sure did a good job of hiding it. At least he can lessen his worry by knowing he can be surrounded by other Dwarves with weapons and not have to become so anxious.
Kíli was about to exit the room and meet up with Fíli, but Thorin entered before he was able to do anything else."How did your first day go?" Thorin asked, searching his brown eyes for any sign of him being distraught or uncomfortable. Kíli grinned and said, "It went great, uncle. I'm really enjoying doing this. I'm sure Fíli feels the same way."
"Well that's wonderful to hear, Kíli. I merely came to inform you that your mother wants you and your brother back to the Royal Wing for dinner."
Kíli nodded. "I'll be there in a few minutes." With that, he left the room.Thorin stood there by himself, thinking about the simple conversation he had with his youngest nephew and the other one he had with his older one. Thorin frowned, thinking about how Fíli said Kíli had nightmares very often. About what? He doesn't know. The battle, maybe? It's been six months since it occurred. Nonetheless, it shouldn't matter how long ago it was. His nephew was having nightmares and yet, he isn't opening up to anyone about it. Thorin knew it was serious when he discovered that Kíli wasn't even telling his own brother about it.
Kíli finally arrived at the medium sized kitchen and dining room, only to be greeted by Fíli's cat, Olivia, sitting on the floor next to the door. Olivia was licking her brown and white fur when Kíli tried to pet her.
"Hello Olivia!" Kíli said as he extended his arm out to touch the cat. She hissed at him and threatened to raise her paw up."Love you too." He said.
That cat never liked him. She absolutely adores Fíli, she likes Dís, and she even likes Thorin for Mahal's sake! Kíli never understood what was wrong with him that she didn't like. He always used the excuse that he was just too handsome for the cat to handle.
"Kíli, my boy, you arrived just on time!" Dís smiled as she served food to Fíli, then getting herself and Kíli a plate as well.
"Yes, it's nice to come home and be threatened by Fíli's sinister feline.""Oh don't be silly, she's such a sweet thing." Dís replied as she handed Kíli his meal.
"Did you not see what she did as I walked in?""Did she try to scratch you?"
"Yes."
"That's because you probably provoked her."
"All I did was try to pet her!" Kíli exclaimed. Dís rolled her eyes at the brunette Dwarf. "Oh just sit down, you."
"Yes, ma'm." He said, turning around to sit down on his seat at the table, only to shortly stop in his tracks.
The cat was in his seat. His seat.
