We sit in a couch as he takes his phone out. We're both silent. "I'm sorry." I start. I'm guessing it's somehow my fault since I actually said things. He's sort of my boss or whatever so I should be extra patient with him. "I'm new here so please bear with me. If I'm not allowed to talk to anyone from other companies or whatever, then I won't. Please just help me on knowing what's right and wrong." He doesn't say anything but he just nods. "Shall we start?" I ask him, to fight the deafening silence between us. I was ordered to teach them whenever they're free and we would have one formal class every once a week. So right now, I'm obliged to just follow them around while randomly spitting out Filipino words helpful for their concert.
"I want to learn how to say 'I'm so happy.'" He says. I'm guessing he has already thought of something to say since he wanted to learn already.
"You say, 'sobrang saya ko'." I speak slowly and he copies afterward. "Sobra means excess, saya means happy, and ko means me'. He nods as I explain.
"Is it okay if I say that during the concert?" He asks. "If you're really happy that time then you can. Repeat it again." I answer.
"So-beu-rang sa-ya ko" He was saying slowly per syllable. He sounded so cute I couldn't contain a chuckle.
His face frowned, "Wae?" He asks with a pouting mouth.
I laugh even more. "It's just that you're so cute saying it."
His pouting lips turned into a curve of smirk. "You think I'm cute?" He says in a deep voice.
Instead of saying anything, I acted like I was about to puke. He laughed lowly and pinched my cheek.
"Yah! Let's go back to the lesson. What else do you want to learn?" I ask him, trying to concentrate. We lean back to the backrest of the couch. He yawns as soon as his back touches the couch.
"How do you say "I like you"?"
"Shout 'Gusto ko kayo' which means I like you all." He nods as he whispers the sentence. He's good picking them up. "But what about when you're just saying it to one person?" He asks.
"Gusto kita." I tell him.
He shuffles on the couch, maybe he's really sleepy. "Gusto kita." He states, looking at me. Maybe he's trying to read my expression but I'm trying my best to act like he didn't sound so cute. His gaze were still fixed on mine.
"Okay, let's proceed."
"Haru jong-il dang sin saeng-ga geul hae yo." He says. It's so cute that he's planning on saying this to Exoluxion in Manila.
"Well since you're referring to Exo-Ls. Which means a lot of people, I think of you all day in Tagalog is Buong araw kayong nasa isip ko."
"How about just referring to one person? How do you say that?" Jongin requested.
"Buong..." I say as he follows again. "Araw... Kang... Nasa... Isip... Ko." He repeats one final time but this time, without my guidance. He taps something on his phone and points it to my mouth. "I'll record it. Say it."
"Buong araw kang nasa isip ko." I say near his phone. I felt so shy so I just let out a shy laugh. He looks at me seriously though.
"Dang si neun misoga jeongmal areumdawo." He says in a serious voice. The words he desires to know gets weirder every time.
"Are you planning on taking home a Filipina?" I commented. "Why do you want to learn 'You have such a beautiful smile'? If I didn't know any better, I'd think he was going to ask someone out in Philippines but I'm guessing Aeris would die when they hear these sentences.
"Maybe." He looks away immediately.
Confused, I decided to just answer him. "Ang ganda ng ngiti mo. That's how you say it. Just record me again and just try to remember it whenever you have time." And so he does.
"Are there a lot of Filipinos who have relationship with Koreans?" He asked curiously.
I nod, "Not really. I haven't seen much but you know you can't help who you fall for." I tell him. Feeling proud of how I sounded so mature with that.
"Yeah, you can't." He looks at me and I'm embarrassed immediately so I look away.
The door opens and everyone's attention directed to the person at the door. He was Korean and he said something about Exo going on stage in a few minutes and that they needed to assemble backstage.
"After we finish, it's our free time. Want to go have dinner?" He was already walking away and towards the door so I just nodded. He waved goodbye and I was left in the room alongside other crew.
I look around, everyone was doing something. I suddenly feel worthless in the team so I try to approach the make-up artist. I asked her in Korean if I could help her with something but she just said she's already done. I walk back to the couch and as I was about to sit, the manager peeped through the door and signalled me to come with him.
As I stepped outside, he started walking fast. "You've been given the opportunity to watch them. Today's your lucky day." I suddenly felt excited. I get to see stages? Yes!
When we arrived, Got7 was performing. I try not to act like a fangirl on the sight of Jackson. But clearly, I couldn't contain my feelings since someone nudged me. I'm guessing this person noticed my fangirling. "Stop looking at him or he might melt." I look at the owner of the voice whispering to me and it was Jongin. Aish. Always ruining my fangirl moment.
"Shut up and just wait for your turn to perform there." I tell him.
"Will you look at me like that too? Like I look so perfect?" He whispers.
I raise an eyebrow, looking at him. "I'd probably look at you because you look weird in that suit."
He raises an eyebrow too. "I look weird in this suit? Is that how you usually describe your crushes whenever they wear something like this?" He says.
"Nope." Well, no not really. I mean, you don't look weird. If I were to be honest right now, I'd say he looked like some bachelor living in Seattle and owns the latest and most classy looking European car available. "It's just you that I call weird."
"I'm honoured that I'm the only one you call that." He replies. I look at him weirdly and shooked my head to show disappointment.
"Aish. What do I do with you?"
He smirks and it's with his smirk when I realize it might be misinterpreted. "I could suggest things but I'm afraid this place is too public."
I cover his mouth with my hand. "Sssh! You're such a tease! You should stay quiet." I whisper.
He removes my hand covering his mouth with his hand. "Is it working? Are you getting teased?"
Oh my god. He can't stop speaking, can he? If people heard our conversation, they would've totally judged us.
"Weirdo." Is all what I managed to say. He laughs and proceeded to getting his mic from the PD of the show. He looked back and winked as they walk towards the stage. "Dinner!" He mouthed and I just nod again. Aigoo, this guy is killing me. He speaks like a true playboy. He's got all the lines memorized. I don't even know what to think.
