Chapter 2 { Why Cruel World? }

Both me and Riley bolted. I would have teleported, but my powers are blurry for some reason. All I know is, I have to find who's screaming. I stumbled down the gravel road. Bad time to be clumsy!
I fell to my knees on the road, but I scrambled up and went back to running. Normally I would make sure no one say me trip over nothing, but I was focused on something more important.

People crowded in a circle, I could see a trail of blood. Riley froze when she say what was in the circle of people. That made me ran harder. Once I saw everyone, I froze myself.

Scarlet was full blown crying. Tears were running down Oliver's face. Grace looked pale, well her sister was vomiting. Which I quickly looked away from. It was to dark to recognize anyone else, but looks of horror could be seen.

"Move!" I shouted at the crowd. They moved, so I could see. My eyes burned, wanting to let tears escape, but I wouldn't let that happen.

One of the rookies, Jade. Laid bloody and bruised on the ground. Her straight black hair was messy, and had warm blood in her hair. She looked dead as ever. Worst of it was her arm. Half of her arm was brutally cut off, wasn't clean.

"Everyone but Riley, Sage, and Samantha  V. go back to your tents. " I said loudly. No one moved. "I SAID GO!!!" I shouted. Everyone rushed to their tents. I was breathing heavily. I felt a calming hand on my shoulder. I looked to Sky, she nodded. Then took Feray away from everything before she could see anything. I could hear Feray complaining. "But mommy, I want to know what's going on?" She wined. I didn't hear Sky's response.

Riley and Sage were talking in the corner. I was going to listen on them, but average height blonde stood before me. Standing tall. Her hazel eyes flickered around the scene. It was to dark to see what she was wearing. "Sam could you check out the scene for me, I need to go make sure everyone is okay, or at least stable." I asked her. "Yes boss." She said quickly and then went to investigate. She seemed quite interested too. She's the best for an investigation, makes sense too, cause she is an investigator.

Riley and Sage were talking near the tree line. I squatted down behind a rock, to listen in. I'm a nosy person. I couldn't see them without them seeing me so I could only hear.

"Sooooooooooooo we good?" Riley asked.
"Yah. Maybe we can start over." Sage said.
"Good idea."
I heard a breath intake than sigh.
"My name is Sage Grayson. I'm 20 years old. I work with shield like you." Sage said.
"How come I've never seen you around before?" Riley asked.
"I don't work much at the helicarriar, I'm in a classified area. Most the agents there range from 5-7."
"Oh, what level are you?"
"Level 5."
"Ha level 7."
"Well, umm I guess that's nice to know."
"Maybe we could work together someday."
I heard a laugh.
"I'm not much of a hero." Sage said.
"You got superpowers don't you?"
"Yes but.."
"Then you're a hero. You're here, on the good side. You. Are. A. Hero."
"I'm not.."
"Hero."
"But.."
"Hero."
Then I heard about her sigh. "Fine I'm a hero."
"Yah!! I can tell this is a start to a beautiful friendship."

I chuckled to myself, at what Sage's reaction to Riley's personality. Well I'm going to have to get them anyways, might as well tell them now. I waited til they won't looking, stood up, and brushed off the grass in my hair. Then casually walked up to them.

"Hey guys. Sage could you please go talk to Sam, and check out the scene." Sage nodded then walked her way along the gravel path. I then turned to Riley. Her mouth was open, wanting to say something. I waited for her to speak
