Author's note:
Hey guys I'm new to all this novel writing stuff, so please, I beg you, be gentle. Please do leave me some constructive criticisms so I can know whether or not this story is worth continuing. Leave me comments and vote me up please! :3
Thanks for all the positive comments! OK, why I haven't added a little more description is because I'm trying out this really cinematic way of writing! Imagine you're watching a movie with all this happeneing. since you don't know what the characters are feeling or antyhing, that's why I haven't put any of that. I hope you get what I'm trying to say :)
Please do check out the link, it's just a soundtrack and hopefully it'll only enhance your reading experience, so do play it while you read! :3

It was ten to three according to Kae’s wristwatch. It had emitted a small pulse just a few seconds ago, reminding him that he had to be leaving for his mission soon.
Kae opened his eyes to the pleasant breeze that drifted in through the balcony brushing over his face. Even by Elven standards, Kae had an elegant face. The upper part of his rich black shoulder length hair was neatly tied up in a pony tail, while the rest of his hair was tucked behind his pointy-long ears. He had a slight round face and a prominent jaw line. His soft dark brown eyes were perhaps his most prominent facial feature which complimented his fair skin.
Kae Bayer meditated peacefully basked in sunlight in his balcony, which overlooked the beautiful country. His balcony took a third of his room space and was only separated by a set of white chiffon curtains. The rest of his room was really bland all coloured in white. All he had was a bed, a table, his closet and his en-suite bathroom.
He inhaled deeply, and slowly let out all of the air as he performed a set of complicated gestures with his hands to finish up the ritual. As Kae got up, his white vest gently fluttered in the breeze. Straightening out his vest and fixing his blue cotton shorts, Kae made his way inside his room.
He went over to his locker taking long graceful strides. Stopping in front of the door, he drew a series of lines on the security screen in order to unlock it. What he found inside made him grin.
'Finally, upgrades!' He thought out loud.
Sitting neatly inside his locker were his new military upgrades. Kae put the armour on with trained efficiency over his war-bred body. After putting it all on, he performed a few combos in the air, he made sure he mixed them up to test every aspect of his new armour.
'This is slightly heavier than the KS-10.' He said to himself. 'Fits better than the A-F grade. Same old boring black colour though. Guess this will do after all.' He sighed.
After that he carefully picked up his cape which was neatly folded. The way Kae handled it made it seem that perhaps it was the most important part of his armour even though it didn’t add much credible defence.
The deep sea blue cape with the scarlet sigil Kae now wore gave him a very anime-esque appearance. One look at him was all it took to tell that Kae exuded a powerful aura and that he must be one of the elites within the army. The only other thing that caught the eye was the symbol on the left of his chest plate. The symbol, depicting a diamond covered in blood, had the word AreyhCiké carved underneath it.
Kae was just about finished strapping on his blade’s sheath and gun holsters when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.” Kae said without missing a beat as he knew there could only be one person at his door right now.
“Ready to go sir?” Another soldier wearing the same armour as Kae, apart from his cape being silver, walked in. Being an Elf, with their ability to live for a thousand years, he had a strong yet amiable face and looked to be in his early twenties by Human standards.
“Yes. Crash, where is Sky-” Kae was cut short as a brilliant red flash came from behind him.
“Skylar Occulo at your service, my lord!” The man, who had just appeared out of nowhere, was kneeling on the ground and was covered in dull red smoke which cleared out instantly. He wore a leather version of the armour the other two men wore, although different, his cape was fashioned with the same silver as Crash's. The only difference was he wore a mask which covered the entirety of his face.
“How many times have I told you not to call me that?” Kae asked.
“About-”
“And how many times have I told you that that was a rhetorical question?”
“My apologies my... er... sir.”
“Enough with the formalities. Give me the report of your scouting.”
“Yes sir! Cross and I checked the proximity of the target and everything is clear. No irregularities.”
“Good, everything is in order? Bio-readings on the target?”
“Yes sir, everything is in order. Bio-readings indicate the target is indeed in the said area. Everything else seems normal, oddly enough, going by his heart-rate patterns, the target seems to be calm. Apart from that, everyone in AC is waiting for your orders sir.”
“Good. Let’s just hope that this is easier then we all thought.” With that Kae checked his wristwatch. It’s time. He swept one last look around his room making sure he wasn’t forgetting anything.”
“OK, Skylar, you and Cross know what to do. Wait for us at the entrance to the cave.”
“Yes sir!” With that Skylar vanished in the same dull red smoke he appeared in accompanied by a bright red flash.
“Crash,” Kae now turned to face him, “round up ACT. We’re moving out.”
“Yes sir! Team, white line, move out! I repeat...” started Crash, quickly giving his team orders through his earpiece as he followed Kae out of the room.
Kae, although perfectly prepared, subconsciously went through his gear again while walking out of the compound. After what seemed like him going through a mental checklist, he finally relaxed being satisfied that every single one of his equipment was indeed with him.
“You know what I never get Crash?” Kae said out loud suddenly, more to himself than to Crash.
“What’s that sir?” Crash replied, intrigued slightly. By the look on Crash’s face, it seemed it was uncommon for Kae to make small talk.
“Why does Skylar, being an Alter, have such a flashy entrance with the whole flash thing? Don’t get me wrong. He’s good at what he does, really good. But you would’ve thought he would’ve been more... subtle.”
With that Crash laughed out loud. Whatever he thought Kae might say, he clearly wasn’t expecting this.
“Your guess is as good as mine sir. Don’t ask him though; he’s oddly sensitive about it.”
“Huh,” with his final remark, the men walked the rest of the way in silence. By the look on Kae’s face, it seemed he was still trying to figure out the logic behind Skylar’s flashy entrance.
