Author’s note:

Hey guys! Thanks for sticking with me this far! I hope I don’t lose your support and have more of your friends read my stories too!

1: I want to get you guys into really feeling this book as if you're watching a movie. So for that, I'm gonna put up a link for a song and cue when I want you to play it (usually right at the start for now). You don't HAVE to, but it'll be cool. Well, according to me, hence, I want to know what you guys thought. Yeah, it's songs I like, so don't expect it to tantalise your music-buds, but they are the most appropriate songs for the scene. Anyway, I hope you get the picture, if you don't, please do ask me!

2: Pronunciation guide:

 Word                    –        Pronunciation

Bhépharsta                  -       Bhay-farce-ta (soft t, make the sound by connecting your tongue with                                                          your upper teeth not your upper gums, hope you get it :P)

Katharo Ito                   -               Ka- tha- Ro ee- tou (same soft t as above)

3: Puran is the ancient language, for those who were wondering what it is.

4: I dedicate this to Mariposa99 because I bugged her a lot and made her listen to a few songs she didn't like but was a good sport anyway :3

I’ve kept you long enough! Enjoy! :3

Kae raised a trembling finger to his earpiece and clicked it on. “Team? Come in team!” He radioed, sounding desperate for any signs of survivors. The only reply he received was silence. “Team come in! Please reply, anyone!” Kae sounded really apprehensive now.

After more silence, Kae threw his earpiece on the floor as if to curb his self despair. He sat there panting heavily. “No! No! No! NO! Why’d this happen?” Kae cried out, biting back his emotions and tears.

As if to divert his thoughts, Kae surveyed the remains of the battle. Judging by the lack of shadows, Kae realised that evening was setting in fast. Still panting, Kae's breath turned into small cold clouds in front of him emphasising the drop in temperature over the duration of the battle.

Kae blinked a few times and took a deep breath in an attempt to clear his head. He then focused on the angry wounds he had received from the creature’s bite as he ripped off what was left of his torso armour. Wincing slightly as the cold bit air bit him, Kae clenched his teeth and sat in a more comfortable position, leaning against a nearby tree. He sat there panting again, the slight movement having drained a lot of his energy.

Tucking his wet strands of hair behind his ears, Kae scooped up a handful of ice from the ground and started to slowly clean his wounds. Kae's face contorted with pain, but he continued to  clean his wounds. Finally after being pushed to the limit, Kae let out a loud cry of agony and fisted the ground. Gasping for air, Kae leaned onto the tree again and held his bleeding wound and closed his eyes in efforts to bear his pain. He tried opening his eyes but now it was getting harder as he started to lose consciousness from the loss of blood.

Kae managed to open his eyes with a lot of effort and seemed to be forcing himself to keep them open. Lost in his thoughts, Kae snapped back to reality when he heard the soft rustling of leaves nearby.
