I wondered if she was still alive, but I also had problems of my own.

*As told by Vlad
"Что за черт?" (What the hell?) I groaned, sitting up. I ran my fingers through my hair, taking in the scenery. By the looks of it, I was in a dark cellar, no signs of light.
"Vladimir?"
"Nikolai?" I asked, padding towards the nearest wall. His voice sounded weak, as if he had been crying for quite some time.
"Y-yeah. I'm over here." He croaked, right as I was able to see him. He looked miserable.
"Nikolai..." I trailed off, brushing his blood matted hair away from his bloodshot eyes. I looked down at his left hand, noticing his sword, in half.
"You didn-"
"I had to, I had to fight him Vladimir, he was just too strong..." He sighed, pressing his thumb against a patch of blood leaking from his jaws.
"Do you know him?" I asked.
"Yes. But I only met him once. He's Leo's father, Damir."
Leo. I'd heard that name before, but I wasn't sure whe- Wait. That was Madie's boyfriend.
The puzzle clicked together slowly, leaving me at one realization. Leo wasn't the only killer in the family...
"Матери России..." (Mother of Russia...) I finally whispered, grabbing the pieces of his broken blade. I remember how much work he had poured into making this sword, now useless. Its snow white blade shimmered weakly in the darkness, along with the hilt, that only had 1/3 of the actual weapon attached to it.
"It's worthless." He said, letting out a defeated sigh. "Let's just focus on getting out of here."
"Right." I frowned, secretly slipping the sword into my cloak, acting like I had slid the pieces across the room. I'd fix it later.
I helped Nikolai stand, pulling him up slowly.
"Shit..." He seethed, staggering forward. "Wait, where's Madie!?"
His eyes grew wide, entire body fidgeting with fear. The worst part was I couldn't reassure him, because I didn't have a clue... All I remember is... I really don't remember anything. Just a castle, Leo's dad, and Arkadi, then my mind's a blank.
"You don't know, do you?"
I shook my head, just as a light flooded the room. It burnt my eyes, but I was happy to see it. Leo'a dad walked into the room, emerald eyes presenting a peaceful glimmer.
"Hello boys." He chimed, eyes instantly darkening. "I've got a little surprise for you..." He slid to the side, ushering a girl forward.
"Madie?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. She smiled innocently, sticking close to Damir. I noticed her eyes were glazed slightly, bright crimson color reduced to a dull red. The smile almost looked fake too... Something was horribly wrong.
"Hello." She smiled. She proceeded to look up to Damir, who mutely nodded at her.
"Go ahead."
"Okay!" She sang, skipping out of the room. "Follow me~"
I casted a worried glance at Nikolai, who sighed in defeat, walking out into the light. I followed behind him, glaring at Damir as I padded past him.
"What the hell did you do to her?" I growled.
"Showed her the light."
