I still couldn't believe he was a demon lord. I fell for a monster. And now I realized... he never really loved me.

"It makes so much sense." I explained to Arkadi and Sabrina, who I now sat with outside. It had to be one or two in the morning. "Leo. The lion. Whatever the hell you want to call him. He's a psycho."

"So what you're saying is that he had to of known about you power, and he was trying to use it for his side of the fight..." Sabrina said, holding her cross dagger in her hands. Arkadi looked at the dagger angrily, obviously envying her for knowing how to use it.

"Pretty much. He was just using me..." I whispered. As much as I pretended I wasn't fazed by it, I knew I truly was. It was painful knowing he didn't really care about me. How could I still care about him when he destroyed my family?

"Hey, don't be so down about it. You get to kill him twice. That'll be fun." Arkadi smirked, nudging my shoulder. I gave him an amused smile, looking over to Sabrina, who was also grinning.

"Yeah. And this time you could rip out his spinal cord and stab him in the heart with it. Then tear open his chest and rip his heart out. Think of the possibilities~" Sabrina said, eyes darkening. "And then use his bones to make a candle for Vladimir. He loves candles for some reason."

"Oh yeah!" Arkadi laughed. "Let's not forget 'Luka' and 'Vladdy'."

"Shut up... I was drunk. And Luka doesn't count. He's my best friend, nothing more. But I'll admit to liking Vlad." I murmured, giving him a look of warning.

"I think you like Luka a little more than just a best friend."

"Did. Okay? I did, but I'm over that."

"Sure thing girlie."

"Shut up."

"Both of you, cut it out." Sabrina commanded, pulling me away from him. "I don't see you with a girlfriend Arkadi."

"You slapped me in the face when I tried."

"I'm married..."

"So?"

Slap.

Sabrina clipped him right across the face, storming inside. Arkadi smirked, putting his hand up to his face.

"Again with the slapping..." He mumbled, looking back to me. "I'm gonna turn in girlie. See you in the morning."

"Right..."

After Arkadi had left, I laid in the snow, letting the snow trickle slowly down my face. I blinked it out of my eyelashes, looking down at my silver scythes.

..."Soon"

"Morning." Vlad's voice echoed in my ear. I smiled softly, opening my eyes to see his own golden eyes shining down at me.

"Hey." I smiled, sitting up. He helped me off the ground, taking a hold of my hand.

"I made pancakes!" He beamed, dragging me inside. I laughed at his happiness, going along with it.

"Yay!" I cheered, taking a plate from the counter. "Thank you!"

I ate them quickly, realizing I hadn't eaten in a few days.

"So how are yo-"

"Shit! My nunchucks!"

"Arkadi!?" I shouted running into the living room. His entire left arm was reduced to bone, a black flame engulfing it. His nunchucks dripped molten silver, now useless.
