The training just got harder every day I lazily lifted my head off of that pillow...

"Madie, wake up!" My uncle's voice rang loudly in my ears.

"I swear to drunk I'm not God..." I mumbled, turning on my side, still in a deep sleep. "Okay, maybe I had a little vodka..."

"MADIE!" Nikolai screamed, causing me to fall face first on the floor.

"Don't arrest me offic- oh, good morning..." I groaned. Nikolai pulled me off the ground, whispering harshly into my ear:

"Get your act together! We have lots of training to do since Eva's out of town. I washed your cloak too."

I glanced over at the clock, sighing. 8:00 AM.

"Uncle, I only slept for 8 hours..."

"It's 8:00 TOMORROW. You slept for 31 HOURS." Nikolai frowned, throwing my cloak at me. "You have five minutes to be at the breakfast table, or you're sparring with me."

...That woke me up.

"OKAY, OKAY, OKAY, OKAY!" I cried, running into the closet to change. I ran down the hallway as I tied the white bow I my hair. I literally dove into the kitchen...

"Four minutes, fifty nine seconds." Nikolai sang, throwing Vlad into a laughing fit. "You were one second away from dying."

"Why isn't Vlad in his cloak?" I grumbled, sliding a chair out and plopping down into it.

"Because Vladimir didn't sleep for 31 hours, now stop complaining. He even made pancakes." Nikolai smiled, handing me a plate. I let out a defeated sigh.

"Whatever you say uncle..."

Halfway through our meal, the front door swung open.

"Anyways, the angle of the strike in what really coun- E-Eva!? What are you doing here!?" Nikolai stammered, dropping his fork mid-bite.

"I forgot my suitcase... Who is this?" She replied, eying Vlad suspiciously.

"I'm...uh...uh... I'm Madie's boyfriend!" Vlad quickly replied, causing me to drop my own fork.

"Черта с два вы!" (Like hell you are!) I spat defensively. "I mean... Yeah, he's my boyfriend."

"It's nice to meet you! Why are you wearing armor sweetie?" She asked.

Dammit, why did she have so many questions?

"There's a knight convention in... Serov!" My uncle interjected, handing Eva her suitcase. "Now off you go!"

"Alright, but it looks more like what an assassin would wear." She sighed, making me tense up. Damn.

"We'll fix it. Bye honey." Nikolai smiled, kissing Eva. Vlad and I giggled slightly, making Nikolai frown.

"I don't know why you're laughing, you two are a couple too." Nikolai smirked. "Why don't you two kiss?"

"Nikolai I swear to Mother Russia I'm goin-" I was cut off when Vlad kissed me on the cheek lightly.

"So cute." Eva giggled as she closed the door. Thank God she was gone.

"Я ненавижу тебя так много сейчас дяди." (I hate you so much right now uncle...) I growled, slamming my head against the table.

"Care to prove it on the battleground?"

"Нет!" (No!)

"That's what I thought. Vladimir, go get your cloak on."
