Meltdown

- Two Sides Of The Same Spinning Coin -

Jace and i stopped in front of a colored door. One half was red, the other was blue. The door had two plaques, 'Rose Cage, Delphine' and 'Lily Cage, Delphine' Jace turned to me, excited, as if something was going to happen. A young girl, around the human age of 8, opened the door. She was wearing all blue, and looked angelic.

"Hi!" she said "Im Lily! You most be Vex, Hi Jace! Rose is sleeping, so shhhh!" The young girl seemed so energetic, bouncing up and down as she met us. Following her inside, the room was divided into 2 parts, the colors matching the door. In the red bed, The other girl, Rose, was sleeping soundly. Lily sat down at a tea table, and motioned for Jace and I to sit beside her. She clapped her hands, and teacups, appeared on the table. She set down a bowl of sugar cubes, and sat straight, looking directly at me, with interest.

"Hey Jace," she began, "How long have you known a Flexibus? I could have sworn the last one known to our kind was spotted in the great war, with Darci and Ciana." she kept staring at me, as if she was pulling my mind apart.

Jace gasped, "Vex... Is a Flexibus? No... It cant be... They've been extinct for years... Lana would have known if she was one..."

The young girl bobbed up and down, getting more excited. "But ya didnt tell Lana she could Mind-Read! Can i call Lana? Or is she charging? Oh, nevermind, i know that answer." she giggled. "By the way, Vex, a Delphine is sorta what the mortals call fortune tellers, or oracles! You've been wondering since you saw our names."

"How... How did you know that, Lily...?" I asked, "And... what is a Flexibus?"

"You'd have to ask Rose about the Flexibus part, she knows more about dark creatures than i do, and im a Delphine, we kinda know everything."

As if she was called, the girl named Rose got up and walked to the table. She was much older than Lily, most likely Jaces human age. She sat down at her side, and looked at me. Unlike Lily's gentle, curious gaze, hers was harsh, and forbidding, as if she was testing you.

"Jace, Lily, please, leave." Her voice did not match her looks, it was calm and comforting, such as an older version of Lily. Nodding, they both left the room, leaving Rose and i at the center tea table. " A Flexibus... I never thought i'd see another one of you guys around..." her eyes went white, as if she was reciting something. "A Flexibus is a creature unlike no other... It cannot die, as it heals much too fast, and has outreaching powers concerning the mind. It is said that they have strong links with fire elements. If they concentrate their powers long enough, they can either manipulate a person, or curse them to be a hollowed version of themselves..." Her eyes returned to normal, and she smiled at me. "My name is Rose, nice to meet you, Vex."

I smiled. "Hi Rose... you already seem to know who i am, and i thank you for explaining it to me..." internally, i was shocked. But something about this room made it peaceful, and serene. My mind was open and clear, i could understand every word Rose had said, and wasnt freaking.

Rose smiled. "The feeling you have is from Lily, she likes to keep things calm and collected. My younger sister... is the Delphine of light, and i am the Delphine of darkness... Yet, for her case, i try not to get too violent or scary. My sister means the world to me..." she trailed off, as if she was dreading something. They both came back in, and Lily wrapped her arms around Rose, comforting her.

"Its okay sis! Nothing can ever seperate us! I dont care if you set a plague on an entire civilization! As long as you punish the wronged, I'll always support you!" I watched as Lilys words, immediately settled Rose down, and she hugged her sister back. I smiled. The bond they shared, was something else. You could feel the Aura they had, and it was beautiful. We all turned our heads, as Lana burst into the room, panting.

"I... found out what Vex Is!" Lana said, between breaths, "Shes A Flexibus!" The whole room burst into laughter, and Lily ran over to support her, something was gnawing at my mind.

"Lily, Rose, Jace said you were twins, but you dont look like it..."

Rose laughed, "We are, the same age in delphine years, but in human years, i am older. It works that way with delphines. It is a confusing way, but that's the curse of our kind. We dont choose what age we resemble in human years. Our human year age also reflects our personalities, which i suppose you could have noticed." Lana sat down at the table.

Lily looked at Rose, and she shook her head. I could hear a faint thought trail from Rose's mind. 'Vex must tell Lana herself Lily...' they knew what i had seen with Ophelia. That honestly didnt surprise me anymore. Between meeting Jace, seeing Megan thrown against a wall, meeting a person who could be called a robot, a representation of chaos itself, meeting the Delphine twins, my mind was full.

Three things, still stood out the most in my mind though, although i didn't know why one of those were in it.

Three, Galdo liked Lana

Two, The whole mystery surrounding Ophelia

One...

I was a Flexibus.

Galdo ran into the room.

"The old hospital wing ay! Its on fire eh!" Rose, Jace, and Lana stood up.

"Galdo, Vex, Watch Lily. She'll know what in doing." Rose yelled, nodding, as they all ran out.

Lily pulled Galdo and I close to her, as she hid behind us, shivering.
