Arthur's POV
"Oh, that sure's great!"Alfred moaned as he leant back, sighing in pleasure.
"Oh yes, it was great, but my stomach hurts like hell. I'm blaming this to you." I rolled my eyes and rubbed my filled stomach, having a hard time to breath properly and trying to will the pain away.
"You have to admit, you loved it!" He grinned cheekily and asked for the bill.
"It's the most decent American food I'd ever have so far, i'll give you that. And the view helped." We just had our lunch here at a restaurant by the harbor. We weren't allowed to eat outside since the rain just poured earlier, and the tables and chair are still wet because of it.
"So where we going next?" I asked as the waiter came back with our change. Alfred left some tip, and we're off to his car for the next destination. Well, that's what I've thought.
"The place's supposedly have their yearly traveling circus by now, and I've heard the troupe brought some elephants and lions with them! So what do you think?" He turned around and gave me a thousand watt smile.
I bet it'll look gorgeous to Alfred, but seeing that smile on my face makes me feel uneasy. I never smiled like that ever before, and to see myself like that...
"Oh stop that smile already. You know I would go anywhere as long as I deem it decent." I threw my hand on his face and scowled slightly at him, though it just made him smile more. "Really, it feels like accompanying a child than a tour."
He just shrugged it off and walk side by side with me.
We had a nonsensical chat on our way there, mostly about ourselves. For example, I never took Alfred to be a geek. Aside from his love of comics and superhero justice, it surprised me a lot when he showed his interest in machines and his knowledge about it.
He's actually pretty smart and it seems like he loves machines so much, so it's a big wonder why he took law instead of engineering.
"My old man wanted me to grow-up like him. He always told me that one should choose wisely for one's best." He said as he pulled his hands from his pockets and made a comical gestures of what he believe his father would do.
"It's not what you like, Alfred. It has to be what would keep you alive!" He scrunched up his face and wag his finger, then laughed after. "I always believed that there's a worm stuck up in his ass and died. He's so strict and he doesn't understand what no means. I eventually had to gave up what I really want when he started bothering Mattie with his ideals."
I looked at him and saw a thoughtful smile.
"Mattie always wanted to be a biologist. He loves preserving things and wanted to improve the world. He even agreed to make some robot with me back then. You know! Like Baymax or something!"
"I'm sure you two would have been great." I assured him which he returned with a thankful smile.
"Though of course that would be impossible by now. Maybe I'll just help him when he got into deep shits because of his researches."
I stared at him for a while, seeing him in a different perspective. For someone who acts like an easy going, optimistic, childish person, to see him act and think maturely for his brother, he just gained my respect.
